Too fast...

through the sleep deprivation, the screechy fits, the unexplained fussy times and the early rising... I know it is all going too fast and I don't want to miss this part... the part where she fits all snuggled up in her sling this way

or the part where she smiles just because I tell her she has stinky pants that need to be changed because she can't understand a LICK of what I'm saying but she likes my tone of high pitched squeaky voice...

or the part where she scrunches up getting up from a nap....

or the part where I get to dress her in whatever I WANT :) and she gets NO say in the matter... I'm trying not to wish away the little parts because they are going WAY too fast and I'm going to miss them when they are gone...

a busy week with FRIENDS!!!!!!

J.T. and Dani came on Wednesday with all intentions of going to the FREE Mommy & Me movie of the week but the place was a ZOO with what I can only assume was early release students from the area... we opted to go shopping and then come back and hang out. The girls first ride in a car together... Clearly they were impressed :) How CUTE is Dani's hat!?!?! :)

On Wednesday night we had the opportunity to have dinner at Glory's house with her boys and princess... Husband was pretending Minnie was talking and it was a HOOT... I think it was funnier for me because I look at their profiles and they ARE THE EXACT SAME!!! :) SO cute!

On Thursday, H.B. made the long trek away from her boy to come and have some girl time. We had a BLAST! Just like old times except there was no Days of Our Lives, Jammies, or naps... hrrrmm....:) maybe next time....

This one is for you, Country Dad :) Gotta love that Heidi-Hair! :)

I am SO blessed with the friends I have to encourage me, laugh with me, hold Minnie, fed me yummy food and relax with me. I am a LUCKY girl....

CountryMum found these pans for J and I for Christmas. She heard us discussing one day how much we liked the corners of brownies...

Tracy Michele...you NEED/MUST/HAVE to get yourself one of these pans my friend... For my partner in crime who helped me eat all the way around a 9*13 pan of brownies leaving the middles for our friends....

These are FAR less work than cutting around that pan :)

Minnie Meets "the lady from the lake"

Dave and Joyce came up for an unexpected trip to see a relative that isn't doing so well... so sad circumstances but the man knows the Lord and as Joyce says, "he just can't wait to get there"...what an amazing attitude :)

So we reaped the benefits of their travels and met up for dinner so that they could meet Minnie....I love introducing Minnie to my girlfriends that prayed so hard for her! :) Pretty sure they are both smitten... Yep...

I love this lady like she IS my own family and thankfully through God we ARE sisters in Christ. Such fun! :)

You gotta love a man that looks at his wife and says "hand me the baby" :) look how big his hands are on Minnie :) For a guy who has FOUR sons he looks just fine with a baby girl and that's a good thing since he'll have his VERY own granddaughter in just a few short months! :) He's a natural! :)

JJ, J, CJ and Ho-Hahn were there and it LOOKS like Minnie turned into screetchy pants... she did... but honestly with these two she really did quiet right down...

I just missed those photo opps... whoopsie :) JJ can baby whisper with the best of them! :)

When we got home I had to have Husband take a picture of how cute her outfit was and what a big girl she is standing!!! :)

The Weekend Report...

Husband went away for his annual ice fishing trip this weekend leaving his ladies (and boy) to fend for ourselves...so what'd we do??? Had a SLEEPOVER at L&L's....all of us...see? Sleeping? :) Minnie loved being at TiTi's house so much she slept through the night BOTH nights :) good girl :)

It left us fresh to head to church and hang out with my girlfriends and make a WHOLE BUNCH OF FOOD!! Look for other recaps HERE and HERE. Mama H organized and we had a great time and went home with fantastic meals! :) Here she is making cookies. She had already packaged up homemade spag sauce she slaved over the day before.

There is SIL Bets and Momma S working on gingerbread loaf, cookies, and corn and ham chowder. I think I spy Momma S's stud muffin over her shoulder there :)

CountryMum came to babysit. The baby. Not the coffee :) she did a great job keeping Minnie ASLEEP :)

Here's my project, mid-mess. Chicken Enchilladas. YUM. Too bad I misjudged and didn't get to take any to my OWN home :) ah well... looks like more cooking for me once I make some room in my freezer :)

Our new friend, Gigi or Sweetie. Whichever you prefer :) She answers to pretty much anything but as a Mama of two and one on the way I think that comes with the territory. I really enjoyed talking with her, getting to know her better and spending time together.

I LOVE getting the chance to spend time with this sister in law. She makes me laugh, she is the BEST listener (is that a word? :) and we ended up at a bball game together and then crashing by ourselves at L&L's... nice, quiet afternoon... so fun and relaxing.

How many girls does it take to put together a chowder? :)

As I mentioned there were basketball games and Minnie and I went to Sky's but decided we had had enough day and wanted to just relax in our jammies. So when it came time for Daws late night soccer game we girls hung out in our jammies... Sky sure waited a LONG time to be able to hold Minnie.... all 9 months... :) She's super excited her cousin in here to play with... and I think...

She's going to have her Mama's touch. Here is the baby whisperer in training... Minnie was a little grouchy and when that happens typically Titi takes her walks around and around the island... with Titi not home... the torch was passed to Sky....

She did a GREAT job and we had a happy girl not long after.

Course it also could have had to do with the fact that we put the Contemperary Christian Music station on and had a raging singing and dancing party... :) Minnie does love music :)

Great weekend spent with family and friends and a SUPER nice distraction to the fact that my love, best friend and baby Daddy was gone. We sure did miss him though!! :) It's just more fun when he's around! :)
