Summer Sports

As has been our custom the past 3 summers with Minnie... and ALL.THE.SPORTS. overlap every.single.night. we let the girls pick what they want to do... then we just show up :) Most often they chose soccer and track over bball but on a beautiful summer night....

I LOVE SUMMER!

It was 96 degrees... about a MILLION % humidity and this boss babe raked that pit (and ran the event for part of it) for 4 hours.... and she LOVED it??? 

Hot, sticky and sweaty... and headed from the track...

to bball... AT LEAST... Gorham's gym is A/C. That was a WELCOMED surprise!!!

and as if we went from HERE where she was just WATCHING her big sister in summer track

to her LAST regular season summer track meet... onto qualifiers and states!!

Hitting the Summer RUNNING

SUMMER TRACK IS BACK...Our last first night of summer track... at least I HOPE... really praying that someone wants the reins next year and Husband, Minnie and Miss B can just assist.... that's the goal... 

because it's this girls LAST year... she picked the color...

of course it was minty teal! :) Everyone LOVES it!!! 

Came out guns blazin' at our first meet at HOME... Husband ran around getting everything ready and then.... LEFT for a golf tournament!!!!!

Thank GOODNESS for Minnie and the crew you see here (not shown Jen and Sky Blair) making it a FABULOUS first meet, zero complaints and DONE in less than 4 hours!!!

FINALLY got the boat back after not having it for 2 SUMMERS!!! Finally got our family day that we try to take the Sunday after the State Track Meet but track season went a little "longer" this year... Hip Hip HOORAY!

Summer Track STATE Meet

 Tell me you have a car full of teenagers (or one day from being a teenager) without telling me

Peep Minnie in the way back under the blue blanket? No? She's there!

We were up and at 'em and outta the house at 6:30 on Saturday morning... Miss B was hitting the ground running... pun intended but let's be honest...my gals don't run! Hahaha! She was the first field event. She REALLY was hoping to make it in discus but jav was her event this year...see her there on the bench taking instruction from the USATF official? 

She threw consistently... just not enough to get where she wanted... 

Her support section! So weird NOT to be chasing BOTH of my girls back and forth across the campus...this year Minnie was doing the chasing... hahaha of tiny people to get them to their events. 

It was a beautiful day....we had 42 kids qualify and compete... several winning their events and lots placing in the top 6... 110 kids signed up this year... crazy when I looked back and we had 35 our first season.....

I truly think it grows every year because of Husband doing what he does... coaching, encouraging, teaching...

It's ALWAYS a long season and the longer we do it the LONGER it seems...

but this crew is worth it... and we'll do it again NEXT year for Miss B's last season...
