So apparently all the cool kids are doing it :) and we are jumping on the bandwagon.... the month of September will be a NO SPEND month for us. Nothing unecessary, extra or frivolous. I think Husband and I do a fairly good job of this already but we can DEF. do more and be better...
We do have some things that have already been budgeted in and will be exempt... the annual trips to the fairs and perhaps a pair of clickers at the local September-fest but that's it. There is also a birthday for one of the kids in the pic below at the end of this month and she *might* have cause for concern RE her b-day present. Here's hoping we already shopped for you, huh Sky?? :)
I'll give random updates to let you know how it's going through. I'm excited!

Just a suggestion.. how about attending only one fair and saving the money from the other fairs? Doing a no-spend month is about sacrifice.. so why not sacrifice a fair.. or two? ;)
Sacrifice....EEEWWWWW NOOOOOO :)
We did talk about it and we are going to do the one annual family fair, I *MIGHT* go with the girl when my parents go to the next one but you make a good point to staying home... and the 3rd is a maybe right now :) It was the one we couldn't get to last year due to poisionus (sp) mosquitos. Seriously. :)
As long as when you go with the country 'rents, you leave your wallet at home. I can see you, "Ohhh.. it is such a cute, hippie skirt and they don't have a website so I can't order it later.. I'll just grab it now". or "This would be great for LJ for Christmas". Yeah... I don't see this going well for your no spend month. LOL. But.. it is your no spend month. "Spend" it however you please. hehe.
Hilarious...the 'allowed' expenses during a no spend month...hahaha. On you, Country Mouse. Only you would be clever enough to walk Husband into the new clickers during the no spend month. :)
I love Tracy's idea...or how about inviting Country Rents to the other fair (annual family fair) and combine all efforts?
But then again, I'm all for showing support to the local businesses...even if they are mostly fried food vendors...hahaha. *wink*
WHOA....sorry about that last post/comment. I apparently didn't proof read when I typed. WHOOPSIE!
What I was TRYING to say was: Hilarious...the 'allowed' expenses during a no spend month...hahaha. ONLY you, Country Mouse. Only you would be clever enough to TALK Husband into the new clickers during the no spend month. :)
There. I'm done editing. :)
TM ~ "As long as when you go with the country 'rents, you leave your wallet at home." That fair is in October :) and we NEVER buy things at the fair... well except for said fried food :)
and Mama H "Only you would be clever enough to talk Husband into the new clickers during the no spend month. :)"
says the girl who didn't MAKE it a month!!! :) :) boo-yah!
(did I seriously just say boo-yah? :)
HILARIOUS...yes, you definitely said BOO-YEAH...it's true though...so thank you for calling me out on it...it's always easier to sit on the sidelines and pick out all the flaws...but when you're knee deep in a no spend month, it's hard!!! I just love harrassing you, that's all...I miss you!
Oh gosh I don't think you girls are picking out flaws... I think that it is called ACCOUNTABILITY and if I throw it out here on the blog for the world to see... I need to be held accountable.
Does it count if I have already done a search for the clickers I want at KTP and I'm pretty sure they don't have them so it will be an easy NOT SPEND? :)
If I don't feel the pinch does it still count? :)
