What started as 10 days of "bedrest" and on leash only with a pain med Rx... turned into 6 weeks of still no better....vomit... no eating and continued LIMPING...not to mention DEPRESSION... THE poor guy was MISERABLE... he's so used to doing his own thing... bombing around outside... playing with the gals and ready for any adventure with Husband.... Six weeks was BRUTAL!
We called the vet and they suggested next steps of sedated x-rays. Husband and I did some research on our own and just thought that *maybe* they should check him for Lyme before sedating him for the x-rays. So Husband took the day off from work and asked them to check him FIRST for lyme... within 30 minutes the results came back... TWO tick borne illnesses... both lyme and anaplasmosis!!! He left with an Rx for doxy and permission for OFF LEASH!!! This is what happened as soon as I let him outside with the gals.... I mean can you FEEL the JOY in this photo???
He was SO SO SO happy to have his play time back!!!
He's still limping on occasion... he's still not eating GREAT but his mood is DRAMATICALLY improved.
Poor guy. Our window sill looks like we live with OLD people... I mean come on!
He has to do a full 30 days of doxy so we are hoping he will be ALL BETTER sooner rather than later...
Cuz man ALIVE WE LOVE THIS GUY!
