To say it has been a LONG TIME COMING would be an understatement... I think it has been at LEAST 10 years since this bathroom has been TOUCHED...As evidence by the NASTY black walls and ceiling and woodwork. It was BAD.
We had a "couple" of recent floods with the washing machine which caused the closet doors to not shut properly EVER... So I had Husband completely take them off... that wire shelf is rusted and gross...and the washer/dryer at 22+ years old were TIRED and had been fixed by Husband MANY MANY MANY times....
My partner in crime helping me wash walls in anticipation of our painter coming. Hiring out the walls/ceiling/woodwork... BEST.DECISION.EVER. He was done in a day with Husband's help.
Taking up and off all the hardware.
6 hours later... ALL PAINTED!
Minnie and I got busy swapping out the knobs...
We used the wrong screw size in 6 out of the 8 but thank goodness for Husband... he figured out what size we need so we just have to pop BACK to Lowe's for another package...
I searched high and low for cabinets. I really didn't want to spend a TON of money... I went to the ReStore in Kennebunk, Tamarah checked the one in Westbrook for me and then Husband and I took a date afternoon and went to the one in NH... no luck. Bummer. So we swung into Home Depot and found the unfinished separates....There was a double that I really wanted that was already on the ground and had a few dings in it... I called the employee over and asked if she would give us a discount... she suggested a price, I countered and we got it for $40 OFF! HOORAY!
and I HATED IT... ABSOLUTELY HATED IT... Searched all over Pinterest and found an inspiration picture....
BIL L agreed to build me a FRAME for my mirror.... this has been on my "wish list" for YEARS!
Girl was a HUGE help!
While everything was drying and Husband was off at an eye appointment I raked the entire side lawn and got all my flower gardens cleaned up and SPRING READY!
I LOVE the green!
At 3:30 THIS truck rolled in and hooked my dryer up. Total time without a washer and dryer was probably about 6 hours! Timing was PERFECT!
I had a company on Etsy make it and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT... We brainstormed as a family for MONTHS what we wanted it to say.
It was a VERY FULL and accomplished day!
Stay tuned for Part 2....
