A BIG day for a little girl....

You might remember a couple of years ago this happened
Minnie Kindergarten screening 2015
now guess who's turn it was.... (insert hysterical Mom crying)

She was absolutely MORE than ready, SO super excited and THRILLED to pieces!

A link HERE to Minnie wearing this shirt on her first day of school

How did I get so blessed that these girls call me Momma?? My time at home is coming to a close but how AMAZING that I was there at home for ALL of it... so thankful.

Karisa's Bridal Shower

Also the same weekend that I did THIS... I also helped with the bridal shower for our Pastor's sweet daughter. She is the last of her 4 siblings to get married and she hold such a special place in my heart. I taught her in my 4/5 year old Sunday School and then she taught Minnie in the very same class :)

I am so blessed that the Hospitality Committee lets me come along side for the parties :)

Sweet Liz created this "wedding dress" cupcake arrangement...so cute (and tasty!)

these two are just part of an amazing dream team of ladies who make it all come together!!!

Minnie was THRILLED to be there (Miss B had the choice but when she heard there was a lot of "sitting quietly" she said "yah. I'm not gonna do that. I'm going home with Dad to my DOG." :)

We played a fun (for us :) game. In order to have the kitchen utensils pinned to her apron she had to tell us the book of the Bible a portion of Scripture we read to her was from... i.e. "In the beginning.." she says "Genesis" and gets a utensil. Fun to pick on a Pastor's kid once in a while :) what was even MORE fun was when we gave her a challenge and her Dad's timing could not have been more perfect...

he walked in and was immediately her "phone a friend" and because he was not expecting it and was in a ROOM FULL OF LADIES it did take him a second but he got it and helped out his girl :) So fun!

Clearly she did well and we think she had fun! :)

some of her BIGGEST little fans!

Sweet girls...

A Few Weekends ago....

I had the privilege of attending a Women's conference at a neighboring church....

I had this privilege because of the sweet lady between Liz and I... her Momma...

she has been a presence in my life for ALL my years and she treats me like a daughter. She tells me like it is and she spoils me with things like tickets to a conference that I might have made every other excuse under the sun NOT to go to but needed to be AT. She is a blessing to those around her and points it all to the Lord. I just happened to be the lucky recipient :) (again) of her love!

We listened to Priscilla Shirer tell us (or yell at us ;) on the importance of prayer, on the necessity of turning our focus from being "cheated" from something (life, health, money, kids, a husband, our expectations) and CHOSEN to do whatever God has called of us in this moment....(more on that in a bit) and on how to "dig" into the living, breathing, WORD.OF.GOD.

How blessed to have this "sister" that no matter WHAT; is MY.SISTER. for all of eternity.

The part that I keep camping on (and you all know I DON'T.CAMP.) was this passage from 2 Kings 5:1-14 that she based her message on....

The part that the Lord kept putting on me was... 1) the raiders had taken a young girl captive....(um... can't even imagine Minnie being TAKEN from me, can't imagine that Minnie can imagine that either) but yet... 2) she SERVED her master's wife AND... SHE HAD BOLDNESS to share the GOOD NEWS of a CURE with people who had taken her out of her comfort zone, out of what she thought would be her life and gave them the HOPE that there would be a cure for his disease.

Don't we as Christians get sucked into the "this is NOT what I had planned for my life" but should instead be looking for ways to point people to the Lord? Are you acting like you are "cheated" or are you acting like you are "CHOSEN" to do what HE wants you to do... if it is sharing Jesus to someone on your same path or living in a way that people would wonder why you are different (in a good way ;) and pointing them to eternity. We only get one shot at this.

There were LOADS of friends (and almost family ;) there and it was such a JOY. So thankful for time spent and those that made it all possible.

LIVING ROOM!!!

Husband FINALLY agreed to having our friend Greg-oire over to help us paint our living room. It has not been done since we moved in... 15 YEARS AGO... it was TIME!!

while Greg edged and rolled the top on the crazy tall ladders...

nasty black SOOT...

"Bob" and I edged and rolled the bottom...(could NOT HAVE DONE THAT DAY WITHOUT HIM FOR SURRREEE!!!)

SEVEN HOURS LATER... and it was ALL.DONE. I could NOT BELIEVE IT! I am so SO happy with the color and the fact that it is now CLEAN in the corners and crevices of my home again :)

When you get an email from your child's Sunday School teacher....

I had to share a conversation from Sunday school with you.
We were coloring Noah and his family and talking about families. I told Myah that I had a sister older than me, just like she has Siena. Then I said I also have a younger brother.

Myah: "How old is he?"
Me: "He's 42"
Myah: "42! Is he still alive!"
Me: "Yes. He's still alive. Why?" :)
Myah: "I just can't believe that he's 42 and still alive!"
Me: Well, I think your daddy is around that age. How old is your daddy?"
Myah: Oh, I don't know. 70?
😄
