Wordy Wednesday: 6 Weeks Out

 A quick nod to the post 6 weeks ago and the daily life... today is not a "normal" day in the life but.... fun to document because it will be short and sweet... 

We are on Christmas break...

7:30AM (upstairs in my bedroom) HUSBAND brings the coffee... no cane... no sleeping in the den... (no more infection PTL, although there is some of the incision still "open")

9:30AM.... Husband has been out to the chickens, taken the dog out, showered, gotten himself dressed, creepers on his boots and he is DRIVING he and Minnie to meet up with Guinny to go to the ACTUAL Jack Trap Store (we are a Heritage Family... just sayin')

6 WEEKS out and now we are at the point where we have to REMIND him that he HAD a double-hip replacement because he is out doing ALL.THE.THINGS. 

Plowing, Wood, Cooking, Coffee, Driving, Setting Bait Traps, did I mention Wood, Chickens, Barks, Grilling, Stairs.... all.the.things.

SOOOOO GRATEFUL!

Christmas Break (Part 1)

Minnie and Abbey headed to NH the day after Christmas to pick up Abbey's Aunt... she missed out on NOT FINDING ANY WRAPPING PAPER OR CHEX MIX BAGS... BUT... she did get to go glow-in-the-dark mini golfing (thanks Sky for solving the mystery of the picture) with her bud! :)

Other than some garland with lights... Miss B and I hauled all the Christmas out of the house and cleaned up all the pine needles....

There was chatter of fishing (insert eye roll because....you know.. double hips) but there was  NO WAY my crew wasn't going....

I sent this pic to Husband's friend (whom Minnie is advertising for) tell me you are fishing after practice WITHOUT telling me... if the UA base layer doesn't give it away the hat sure will! 

Just always a LITTLE odd when I see my gals in the middle of water and I KNOW they are NOT on a boat.... yikes!

CJ went... HAPPY PLACE!!!! Except for the Buddy Heater went out so CJ had to go to our house to grab the STOVE for HEAT... Miss B was FREEZING and I was surprised she lasted as long in her too small boots... 😬

I love that CJ was out there...made it EXTRA for Miss B (since Minnie was at practice until almost 11!)

He ended up coming back home with the crew... I had to go back and forth for Minnie to work on a project with friends but he helped Uncle Scott with some bait stuff and knew there was Chinese Food in the future for him ;) which always works to our benefit because the gals don't eat it! We played a game...

I laughed so hard I cried and it was an amazing day/night all around! I LOVE BREAK!

Christmas Day 2025!!

As is TRADITION... The Mouse House was up by 6:20 and opening stockings and gifts by 6:30... AM... Then off to the CountryRents where again... as is TRADITION... The stoves were going and Barks was having NONE of it... this was captured through the OPEN kitchen door where he could SEE all of his people but had no interest in BEING inside WITH them... :) 

Love them. AND... LOVE how much they LOVE each other... 

BAH!

The part we ALL look forward to... what did Nana get THIS year that is the last and FINAL present on the tree that we can all oooo and ahhh over? :) 

off to MIL's for lunch and a smaller crew this year because of sickness... but we were happy to be together...

and less fighting over who sits where... hahahahaha!

No FAMILY photo (ever) BUT... our gals had a great day and they LOVE the traditions and for that I am so grateful and THANKFUL! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Wordy Wednesday: Miss B Sings

So PROUD of my girl for sharing her heart before she sang... it's easy to hear it on the news, in passing, or read about it on the internet but when it's a little girl you have watched grow up before your very eyes and she shares how HARD her days are culturally.... it makes it reality. 

She brought people to tears because of her testimony and I could not have been MORE proud of her. 

The Weekend Report

Kicked it off at TA for bball on Friday night...

 

We had two out with concussions so my girl was runnin' that floor the whole night!! She was ON IT!

FAN CLUB!!! Fun now that Mad $ has her license :) Friends come to away games! :)

Girlfriend HAD.A.NIGHT. most points scored for her team... funny what happens when people PASS to her... *insert eye roll*

This face was kinda a lot first thing Saturday AM coming at me! :)

Minnie has been dragging her feet about getting her hours done in order to send away for her license... but I think a little positive peer pressure with her friends starting to get them was just the boot she needed :) She drove us all the way to Brunswick, handled the highway like a champ... and got some time done!

We headed to Bri's for a family pj party to see Caleb!!! No pics of him though! What in the world! :(

Those two made the most beautiful charcuterie...

We dropped Minnie off at USM to watch Abbey (and her other track peeps) compete at their indoor meet... she was SOOOOO HAPPY to be back with her track gals!!! 

Excited for the last Monday in March :)

We were not sure we could make the lights with Mimi work this year but I'm SOOOOO GLAD we did! Last minute is sometimes the BEST minute... 

We had talked about a new location but we went with tradition and got pizza from Otto.... not sure people were psyched with THAT choice...

but happy for the time spent and TRADITION!

The Week Thus Far...

All the BBall of COURSE but bonus when I get to hang with Abbey!!!

Miss B was picked for the foul shots.... after a TECHNICAL was called... you can't "hockey sub" in bball... gotta wait for the buzzer and a ref to tell you to come in... hee hee hee

We came home and tried a new recipe Minnie had found on Pinterest... it was pretty good... def. adjustments we might make if we do it again but fun to try something new and I always love hanging in the kitchen making food with Husband! :)

On Tuesday, Husband came up to have lunch with my daily lunch date and then Miss B rode up to me in the afternoon so Husband didn't need to make another trip to pick her up from school.... she walked into crazy town and jumped right into helping support tiny people who needed a minute... SO grateful for her!!!!

She played LIGHTS OUT and made an UNBELIEVABLE steal intercepting a pass... and the video wasn't working.... RAH... SO frustrating!!! 

and GUESS who came to cheer her on!!!! Granted she wasn't loud enough until the end of the game but STILL SO FUN!!!

It was military night so they wore camo uniforms and she was back to "22"!!!

Love these gals cheering her on, ubering her, feeding her pasta and having been through it all before providing a support that only THEY can... 

and the BEST cheering squad! they were SOOOOO happy to be there and my girls love them SOOO much! Sweet Paul kept stats for her and even wrote it all down in his notebook! SO ADORABLE!

A FUN night for sure!

Wednesday we were out for Miss B and not gonna lie... NOT their best night of bball.... 

but...looking forward to some extra practices over the Christmas break!

Whew!!! Bball 4 outta 5 weeknights is not for the faint of heart but I wouldn't trade it!!!! LOVE watching my girls!!!
