Thanksgiving Re-cap ~ Picture overload

I *hosted* Thanksgiving but I don't want you to have ANY impression that I actually *did* Thanksgiving :)
Laura Jane was there....good thing...:) Bets... JJ, J and CJ (hence the picture overload :)...MIL.... the Country'rents and Grampa... Oh yes... Grampa.... :) What does a 60 year age difference look like?? Here yah go :)JJ set us up with mo' music mo' music... I tried to teach CJ that she's the CRAAAZZZYYYY one... but this face might not have helped my case any....
We're going to work on "Giving Love"... :)
Played a little Wii..... Laughed a LOT....

And enjoyed a whole lotta hangin' out....
Finished the night as is the tradition... at MIL's, pouring over ads, eating turkey sandwhiches and planning the attack of the next day. Oh wait. That's not me. I just put my stuff on everyone else's lists so I can stay in bed. :) I'm no dummy. :)
Bets... I see what you mean about his eyes... hee hee hee...Getting ready for the 1/2 time rock concert show....
It's like they are singing just to these two girls....

I won't tell yah that it was "the same"... or all "fun" because there was def. someone missing. I think we each expressed it in our own ways (special shout out to Laura Jane for being there for ME) but we also had fun and enjoyed the day and the FOOD because that's what he would have wanted. :)

Based on the new background....

can you guess what ELSE I'm decorating today?!? :)

Coffee Date...

This is my cousin... we got together last night for coffee and heart connect....I introduced her back here and you saw her WAY back here...but let me tell you a little more about her....

A little background... her Dad and CountryMum are brother and sister... there is something like 11 or 14 years between them. When her Dad was a sophmore in high school their Mother (our grandmother) was killed in a car accident. My parents had JUST gotten married. The moved into my grandmother's home and started raising a teenager. He, a high school football/basketball stud starting dating a cheerleader from a rival school. (They went to church together)

Long story short.... my parents had me :) and football/basketball stud and cheeleader broke up. Until.....my mother invited cheerleader and her mother over for Sunday lunch after church... someone had a dirty diaper that needed to be changed and they kissed over my dipe... and have been together ever since. 25ish years later, three kids, two grandbabies and lots of blessings and struggles. Oh I'm sure they owe all their happiness to me :) BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

This cousin is their first born. I think that's part of the reason why we connect so well and have this very special bond.... A little inside scoop to what I see......
she's GORGEOUS both inside and out. She's an amazing Mama... a loving, devoting, supporting, encouraging, adoring wife (I know all those adjectives because she is so complimentary of her hubby when we are together) she is a sister, a daughter, a neice and a friend. But I think the thing that defines her most to me... is... a listening ear, an open heart and the fact that she is a PRAYER WARRIOR. This woman has an INTIMATE relationship with Jesus Christ that I envy and aspire towards. I am lucky to call her my friend but I am BLESSED to call her my cousin. I love you babe and had so much fun with you last night. I miss you bunches and hope we can get together again soon soon soon!!!!

Whoopieeee here we go AGAIN!!! :)

I was going to scan in the paper again like I did HERE but I'm just going to give you a little teaser instead.... quotes from the local paper... with specifics left out for obvious reasons... we 'no need no stalkers here...(you have to say that in your Bazooka zooka bubble gum voice) :)

Regarding an all-star game she was asked to play in because well... she is the best :)
*MHS girls bball player, GA helped the Class A team to a win over the east on Saturday at the All-Star weekend. The Sr. was the game's second leading scorer with 9 points.

*Last season, GA, a 5-foot 8 player who can play anywhere on the court, averaged 16.9 points, 10.6 rebounds, 7.2 steals and 5.5 assists per game. She also made 24 three-pointers.
I'm just sayin'.....:) Here we go GA here we go!! :)

I'm tired....

  • I'm tired of the skidders I can hear in my backyard
  • I'm tired of seeing the semi-trucks freighted with pine
  • I'm tired of people I don't know parking in my yard
  • I'm tired of people I don't know traipsing through my woods
  • I'm tired of seeing the clearing behind my house
  • I'm tired of Husband having to deal with property lines
  • I'm tired of the trees being taken out of my woods......

SURPRISE!!!!!

Last night (Tuesday) we surprised MIL with a trip to a show... :) Not just ANY show... but Lord of the Dance.... show :)

We told her we were going to a local place for dinner and then drove right by :) I handed her the tickets and said let's go to the "big city" instead... She was SURPRISED :) and that could have been the best part :) We started with dinner and met up with these friends who were also going to the show:) MIL and Husband have been before but this was my first time... and I realized a few things last night....
This picture captures a couple of them....1) there is CLEARLY a reason that the word "manscaping" has come into our vocabulary... 2) I LOVE to make MIL laugh :)
a picture of the stage before....
3) I'm going to grow my hair back out long.....(even though all their hair was not REAL NATURAL CURL)
5) and buy some clicky shoes :)
GREAT NIGHT last night... awesome show, yummy food, and I love my family... have I mentioned that before? :)

A play date and dinner with friends...

Ok, first things first... Mama H made a lasagna... I'm a sucker for lasagna... YUM YUM YUM....Husband asked her... "so, what's in it...??" I did NOT expect "Bison" to come out of her mouth... "WHAT!?!?!? I SHREIKED!?!? WHAT!?!?? OH NO!?!? YOU ARE NOT KIDDING!?!?!?" Oh I had to get my Laura Ingalls Wilder face on... I can do this... remember my post about my "Old Fashioned Weekend" and how much fun that was... I can do it... Plate-ed up.... looks tasty doesn't it!?!?eeeeeeee I did the 'ol plug the nose and choke it down face... but in all seriousness... note my plate. Yeah, just about clean. :) It was YUMMY Mama H!! I'm not saying I'll have me a big 'ol bison BURGER but I didn't mind it in the lasagna... and I cleaned my plate to show :) (what's with the eyes?? yeah, that's me pretending I can lift one eyebrow like SIL L :) I can't. Clearly.Ever wonder what goes on UNDER the pictures I crop???hee hee hee.... Here was the reason for the get-together... (not that we NEED a reason to hang out with the H Family :)Course they didn't stay outside long... but as J.T. puts it... "its because they want to hang out with their big people" :)
Note: the ear
Seriously. That bone is for a 120lb dog. It is NOT a small bone! :)He is cute though, isn't he? :)Mama H trying not to get wrestled in with the vicious pooches who want to french kiss one another :) really. I know the teeth can be decieving but its true :)
To finish off the night.... there may have been some SERIOUS tickling going on behind the scenes to get this photo op!! :)

Thanks again H Family for bringing dinner, the dog and yourselves. Always a blast! :)
