Oh what a Saturday...

up and at 'em early for GA to compete in a WEIGHT LIFTING COMPETITION!!!! :) OH how I love this girl! :)
The guys were supposed to be at a meeting at church but it was cancelled at the last minute so they were a SURPISE addition to the GA weight lifting competition.

Of course you cannot lift on an empty belly so we headed to breakfast first... GA is a rock star and she came in 2nd in the females...ok, so there were only two of them... to tell how off this is the girl that beat her... BEAT ALL THE GUYS TOO!!!! :) GA did kick the pa-too-tees of 4 of the men that were there...how's them apples!?!? :)
When the guy heading it up hollered out to the competitors... "Did everyone get their T-SHIRT??" (you didn't think she was doing it for NOTHING did you?? :) ) Sky immediately piped up with .... "I DIDN'T"!!! :) So because she IS so cute... he chased her out into the hallway and gave her a Y t-shirt. This is my new PC wallpaper. Her face cracks me up every time!!! :) tee hee hee
From there we headed to do some shopping... we girls stayed in the car and had fun with Rebound.... Didn't get home until 4:30 and I'm POO-PED! :)

SHE'S HERE!! SHE'S HERE!!!!

Husband and I had the opportunity to meet Jr. Mint last night... and oh MY how adorable she IS!! Great job D&L, GREAT job!! :) (though not that we expected anything LESS after how cute the first two turned out! :)

I do have to say though... I'm afraid we'll (I'll) be changing her nickname from the Jr. Mint I gave her months and months ago to.... Tribble. Confession time: I used to watch Star Trek. Nope. Not kidding. Tracy, stop shaking your head and pretending you won't be friends with me anymore. :) There was an episode (truth be told, it was my FAVORITE episode) where "tribbles" cute, furry, little round balls took over the Enterprise.
Meet my new friend... Tribble :) 7lbs, 3oz and a WHOLE LOTTA HAIR!! (everyBODY gets a nickname.... :)) Love you!!!!

Easter Weekend ~ short version

Sat: Husband ice fished, I ate breakfast with Tami, shopped with Liane and met him back for snuggle time and re-coop time on the couch

Sun: decided the night before to skip out on breakfast and made it just in time for church... hung out for a bit after church with J,J&CJ and apparantly I did not haul my camera out ONCE so hopefully JJ will get some pics up on HIS blog.... :(

I did however, capture the group shot... the boys literally had to put shirts back on since the FIRST thing they do upon entering MIL's house is PLAY BBALL!!! :)
Mr. Play Boy himself :) and then of course not to be out done... one with the sisters :)

Yummy dinner cooked by MIL and home by 3 for more hanging out, ironing and general getting ready for the week ahead.... quiet week... that is a GOOD thing... crunchy hippy dinner with Laura Jane rescheduled but oh wait.. there ARE more plans.... we heard the news... JR. MINT should be born TONIGHT.... WAITING on a phone call... :)

HE'S OOOOOOKKKK!!!!

:) Thankfully and in no small part because of all your prayers... Husband is ok! :)

Procedure took about a 1/2 hour or so but recovery was MUCH longer than we anticipated. He really was not doing well afterwards and was in quite a bit of pain... after sitting there with him for over an hour and 1/2 (recovery is typically about an hour so we weren't too far off) I said, does the thought of actually putting on PANTS make you want to pull the covers up over your head and the response was a very quiet but firm... "yes." :) so we waited some more... :)

now Hong Kong per your comment the other post...THIS is where Husband is the BEST SPORT OF ALL... :)

I ask... "is it mean to take your picture now....??"
his response... "yes"....
and I do it anyway. :) I love this man!!! :)

Have no fear he did eventually decide to put on pants and even felt strong enough to eat dinner out with the fam. so we did not miss Friday Night Dinner :) UP and at 'em first thing this morning because not even KIDNEY STONES will keep this guy from ICE FISHING!!! :) I'm happy to report he is now just hangin' out relaxin' and for this clucky over-concerened wife I'm PSYCHED.

Happy 1st Day of Spring...

for SOME reason I thought it was tomorrow... oh yah... that reason is because HUSBAND told me so when I was drafting the new dry erase fridge calendar :) Not like he messed up my birthday or something though so we'll let it slide and maybe NEXT year I'll be a little more festive than my black shirt and kahki pants. :)

We HAVE an OR booked for tomorrow... we have to be at the hospital at 12:50 while the procedure doesn't take place until 2:50... in the meantime.. Husband is FASTING this whole time. That might ACTUALLY be the worst of the whole part! :) He can have 6 oz of black coffee (with sugar) but that's IT and it has to be before 8:30AM so he's thinking of just skipping all together. (Lord, help us all) :) So we'll be at the "local"(though not the MOST local) hospital from about 12:50 until 5-6PM depending on how he comes out of the anesthesia (I'm not even going to PRETEND like I knew how to spell that...)
Pray that the stone is BLASED into dust so that it doesn't hurt him at ALL but perhaps that it is still big enough to pass along to the Dr. to figure out WHY this is happening.
God's hand is in all of it though... we have the Dr. that was recommended to us (the other 2 Drs in his practice are on va-ca) and we believe he is a Christian... will make it nice when Husband starts praying during the knock out phase and we are hoping the Doc will just jump on in :) Husband HASN'T been in the pain that everyone we have talked to has told us about and we are SOOOOO thankful for that.... and the stone has managed to stay put while we are busy trying to figure out how this is going to get taken care of. We have the strong drugs on tap JUST incase but thankfully nothing more than Motrin has been needed. And again I say... My Husband is a ROCK STAR!!!
I'll hope to jump on and give you all and update tomorrow night but if you are very very concerned... just call my cell.. it would be easier. :) We are hoping to go to dinner STRAIGHT from the hospital and could be home close to 8-9ish...
P.S. yes, Ginnie those are some of the flowers you gave me on Tues! They ALL opened right up :) you are such a nice girl to me!!!

So Friday it is...

That Husband will go in for THIS procedure... anesthesia and everything... :( I call tomorrow to find out what time we need to be at the hospital and we will PRAYFULLY leave there with the 7mm stone in 1000 pieces (that is our hope!!!!) The next step is getting rid of the stone that is IN his kidney and 12mm!!!

If you figure a 7mm stone is 3 TIMES the size it should be to pass on its own... can you EVEN IMAGINE the 12mm STONE?!?!?! OOOOOOOO

THANKFULLY... the stone is irregular shaped, sharp and jagged so things are still "flowing" by it nicely... we pray that is the case for the next 24 hours until we can get him into the hospital...

ooooo as my friend Ginnie says.... We KNOW how to HAVE A GOOD TIME here at our house!!! :)

#2...

The good news? if there IS good news... is that after a CAT scan this afternoon... Husband does indeed HAVE KIDNEY STONES! :( Poor guy! :( though honestly, he IS a Rock Star (B.Y.!!!) the tech said, in the location the stone is I can't BELIEVE you are not doubled over in pain... the man is uncomfortable but he is still himself, he is still functioning and he STILL wanted to hang out with our friends and eat CHILI!!! :) He's UNBELIEVABLE but please keep him in your prayers the next few days... :(

So we ate at C&G's SO fun... yummy food ~ albeit a tad freezer burn (though Husband seems no worse for the wear after eating it... then again he is distracted by the kidney stones... :)and very productive! :) We managed to get ALL of the pics that were on G's 1Gig memory card INTO her computer!!! oh we are TECHIE GIRLS!!! :) (ok, I am. G... you are still up for debate BUT I THINK YOU HAVE POTENTIAL!! :)

The first of two...

My dear sweet friend B.Y. came today to my office and brought me a YUMMY hot tea from 4bucks... complete with two sweet 'n lows... just how she knows I like it... we had a lovely visit and a good giggle over the fact that they had to TRIPLE cup my hot tea it was SOOOO hot... and after she left I started seperating the cups... the middle cup had "The Way I See It # 273" ... have you seen this campaign? Interesting and I like it coming from 4bucks... I haven't read many of the "The Way I See It"s but this one I KNEW would strike a chord with Husband... so I brought it home to show him. Sure enough... the reply back after reading it.. "THAT is going on my board at school...."

"The Way I See It # 273"

"All children need a laptop. Not a computer, but a human laptop. Moms, dads, grannies and grampas, aunts, uncles - someone to hold them, read to them, teach them. Loved ones who will embrace them and pass on the experience, rituals and knowledge of a hundred previous generations. Loved ones who will pass to the next generation their expectations of them, their hopes, and their dreams."

~ General Colin L. Powell

Shop Talk...

Dan was a single guy living at home with his father and working in the family business.

When he found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly father died, he decided he needed a wife with which to share his fortune.

One evening at an investment meeting he spotted the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

Her natural beauty took his breath away. "I may look like just an ordinary man," he said to her, "but in just a few years, my father will die, and I'll inherit 20 million dollars."

Impressed, the woman obtained his business card and three days later, she became his stepmother.

Women are so much better at estate planning than men.

Happy Birthday Nicole...

I miss my friend…

She would have been 25 today… she would have been living in an apt she was paying for herself…she would have been raising two boys on her own… she would still be coming to church on Sundays… she would still be wearing the trendiest clothes… she would be telling me I look cute…. She would be asking if I got my hair cut… she would be the only one to notice it was just a trim… she would be learning to love her Dad’s new wife… she would be supporting her friend Patty through this trial we call cancer… she would be making her family laugh… she would still be a frustration in a sisterly way to JJ when he thinks about their childhood… she would remind me of our talks in my bedroom…. She would still be the girl with the Greg Long poster in her childhood bedroom….she would still have the absolute most GORGEOUS big brown eyes…she would still be Amanda’s best friend… she would still miss her friend Seth…. She would still be going to school….she would be pursuing a dream to be a nurse… she would still want to help other people…she would still be dreaming of a life better for her boys…

she would still just be… Nic
