The Weekend Report

On Friday Husband and the other guys on the road had 9 loads of material brought in to try and fix our dirt road... (sing it with me "I'm from the country and I like it that way... " :)

He and one of our neighbors were out that are 7:30 and I don't think he came home (other than lunch) until about 4PM... that's a full days work right there....

and this girl didn't miss ANY of it... she was down there the WHOLE day with the landscape rake, hanging out, doing whatever needed to be done and chatting it up with the delivery guy every time he came back from the pit ;)

On Saturday... Husband and I went for a walk and when we got home I jumped RIGHT into this project... the boat has been something I have wanted to tackle (pun totally intended) for a while and what better time than a cloudy 70ish degree day?
Before shots:

Don't let the picture fool you... they lasted about 20 minutes....

5 hours later (including the lunch break ;)

Still some improvements to make but Husband and I are planning on hitting the big city on Monday so he can get the stuff to fill the chips and I am going to see about replacement cushions for the seats...

Meags got a new car so on the way home she swung by to show us... quick impromptu story hour ;) My big girl loves that little one next to her....

Sunday was church and a quick dip in Aunt Nancy and "Bob's" pool... great weekend!

Pool Days....

On Thursday Aunt Nancy and "Bob" said the girls could have some friends to the pool... they invited the Penney Tribe and everyone had such a blast!

The weather was perfect and the friends were fun!

They must have jumped a million and 1/2 times AT LEAST! (trying to make a wave pool!)

I foresee more fun adventures in our future ;)

So thankful to family that lets these gals entertain at their home and for the gracious host/hostess that they ALWAYS are :) Popsicles for EVERYONE!

Zoodle Fail

Sweet Heather let me borrow her zoodle-er? I don't know the actual TECHNICAL name for it... but it was SO fun to make spaghetti sized pieces of zucchini in no time flat....

My plan was to use the air fryer so that they would sort of come out like fried zuccini (which Husband and I had on our 2nd FIRST date ;) but....

it was a HUGE fail... I think it was a combination of the heat was too high in the air fryer and I used gluten free panko crumbs and they got SUPER gummy :( It's been a while since I've completely ruined a dish but this one went in the TRASH!

I do think I will give the zoodle-er another chance on a spaghetti night though and just boil them up like the pasta and have sauce on top... but probably will go back to the drawing board if I am going to recreate the zucchini from East Side Mario's ;)

Just a random Tuesday....

I LOVE SUMMER

Husband was up and out of the house with MIL by 5:45 to be there for OPEN at the local strawberry field... he picked almost 15lbs in less than an hour with his Mom and Aunt...

The plan was to jump right in and process them but part way into the project he realized we didn't have any sugar... a crucial ingredient to jam making ;)

So the gals piped up with "let's go tubing, I'll call Skylar... where are we going to go...." and then finally... "Daddy can you take us?" :) He's such a good sport... Sky had her friends the twins with her so fun for EVERYONE....

This picture was taken RIGHT before Miss B flew NO JOKE 8 FEET into the air like Superman, crashed into the water, immediately bobbed back up and threw her arm in the air like a champ letting everyone know 1) she was OK and 2) where she was It DEF. knocked the wind out of her (and her Daddy!!) but the trooper "got back on the horse" before she decided she was all done ;)

Sky and Minnie went together as well and after THEY went flying through the air (Sky still holding onto the tube handle and ripping the side of it off HAHAHAHAHAHA) we called it a day and EVERYONE (even me!) jumped into the 80 degree lake...

Pools, boats, berries, cousins, friends, DADDY... A PERFECT start to summer vacation!

Father's Day

Daws and Josie went north last week and he came home with this cribbage board for Husband... SO COOL!!!

Gals and I asked Husband a million times what he wanted to do after church and he FINALLY ;) said the lake... so we loaded up the boat, he grabbed the gals fishing stuff and off we went...

Such a beautiful day celebrating these two getting the BEST dad for them!

Randoms...

I swear this baby loves me....

Oh Rosie....

The perfect caboose to a slew of 3 older sisters....

it has been almost 6 months since Meag has been able to muckle onto Minnie... and as everyone knows, not many are privileged with the honor of squeezing her... but these two have a special bond and Minnie jumped right in her lap... wet bathing suit and all....

February 2020

My grandmother's beautiful peonies....

We ran into "Livvy" and her Dad taking a break under the shelter at the gas station (since they were on the motorcycle and it was POURING) She couldn't believe how tall Minnie has gotten either... Livvy's Mom thinks maybe she "shrunk" in quarantine ;)

The Weekend Report

Husband was still able to sneak up to the island with a few of his friends for his annual teacher fishing trip... I am so thankful for things to fill my days with these gals even if we couldn't get pedis, go out to eat, and do other out and about fun things that we like to do when Daddy is away....

We had a blast...

I have been going into work so being outside with my boss and her kiddos wasn't a huge stretch with the circle we are doing.... we took our gals hiking on Saturday late afternoon and while it was challenging enough for us it was GREAT to do something active, outside and DIFFERENT from our "norm". Once we got to the top the girls all LOVED it...

I see more fun adventures with this crew as they grow up... Minnie and Madi are the same age, Miss B and Mayson are just a year apart... members of the Varsity soccer team in a few years anyone?

Whew... hot and sweaty gals...

On Sunday Miss Dayna suggested I bring the gals to their camp so she could cut their hair outside and they would not have to wear a mask and be subject to the rules and regulations in the salon... The girls and I were scheduled for haircuts back in March... happy we all sort of have hair that you can't tell if it has been cut or not ;) While we were there her hubby agreed to pulling the kids and that is ALWAYS a favorite summer past time for my crew...

No bathing suits? No problem.

So thankful.
