Birthday Fun

Phoebe's party was a couple of weeks ago ON her ACTUAL birthday... it was the weekend on the big holiday fair at school but so happy we were all able to make it to celebrate 8!

Love these girls so much.

Two 8 year olds and Minnie just 10 days away...

unfortunately we had to reschedule her birthday party due to this....

down for the count with a fever for almost 5 days...

but she was back to school and almost 100% on her actual birthday so we hosted friends

and celebrated with cupcakes

fun arts and crafts to use at the make-up party since they were not going to be able to make it...

and more on the OFFICIAL party coming soon....

Momma Got a JOB!

It has been a good run (thank YOU Husband!!!).... almost 8 years ago to the day I closed up my office on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and knew I would never come back.... Minnie was born that Saturday and maternity leave started... The life of a stay at home Momma began...

But the time has come for Momma to go back to work... I started hunting this summer, applying for part-time positions in and around my town... and even had a lead in a law office to be an admin. The attorney and I hit it right off but she had JUST hired someone the day before. She said she still wanted to meet me because she had heard good things and we connected about all kinds of things that day. It was the end of August.

September was of course overwhelming and in addition to all the loss, the back to school stuff and life in general, I was also on call for jury duty... for TWO MONTHS. The timing was not good.

While I continued applying around I also started substituting... working in the school offices in our district, the kitchens and occasionally the classroom. I am NOT meant to be a public school teacher. :) I do NOT have that gift...

About two weeks ago I got a call from the attorney. She left a message on our machine stating that she wanted to chat with me about some opportunities and asked if I could return her call...

I met with her two days later and today... I start my NEW JOB at her office as her support staff. She agreed to my hours of 9AM-3PM Monday through Thursday and her office is closed on Fridays.

I feel like it will be a really good fit for our family.

I'm excited to get back to an office setting but will definitely miss my joggers, jeans, and sneakers. Thank goodness for CountryMum, her fashion sense and the CountryRents financial generosity ;) I am a spoiled girl :)

Let the next chapter begin... and can someone please tell me when the maid is going to show up and do all the housework and laundry?? :)

26 Years...and less than 3 weeks...

Last year I was supported beyond my wildest dreams by my family and friends to "celebrate" the anniversary of my Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis. I hadn't really given any thought to doing another "blue streak challenge" until about 3ish weeks ago some people in my bubble were diagnosed.

JJ gave me permission to blog about the fact that at 36 years old and from out the BLUE (pun totally intended) he was diagnosed with T1D. Crazy. He's "too old" but yet here he is doing shots, checking his sugar, pump shopping and counting carbs... he found out at about 4:45 on a Friday night less than 3 weeks ago... 4 days later this little guy...
was admitted into the local children's hospital intensive care department because he was so sick. He is the other kindergarten class at my girls school and is besties with sweet Miss O from preschool.

How could I NOT do another challenge?

Sweet Miss Dayna donated her hair dressing expertise AND all 40 of the blue extensions. She was on her feet in my kitchen for over 3 and 1/2 hours.

I had over 50 people (including kids) in my home showing support for Chase, JJ and myself. We were overwhelmed with love and financial support.
I would not wish this disease on my worst enemy never mind my amazing little brother or this sweet 5 year old boy. But these guys will overcome, they will NOT be held back by this disease. This year was such a privilege to raise money again for the Maine P-Pods who help families through this T1D
challenge.

After all... EVERYONE has SOMETHING...

FUN STUFF!

Except for one... this picture of girls LOVES LOVES Magnolia AND Chip and Joanna :) and the one that doesn't is really only because she hasn't been exposed... I'll give you a hint... it's not the little one in green. She might be the most obsessed of the bunch ;) hee hee When we heard they were coming to our local "TAR-JAY" we made a date to pile into my car and zoom down. So fun!!!

Speaking of FUN... the girls were invited to a pizza party at a local mixed martial arts studio. The instructor was amazing and the girls had an absolute BLAST with their school buds. It was pretty much a room full of 5-7 year olds and they LOVED it...

so did he.

I love my girl who, no matter how many times I told her it was a GYM was SET on wearing her sparkle skirt... fine.by.me.

crazy crew for sure... and such a blast for our kiddos!

Halloween

We don't really "do" Halloween in this house... neither Husband or I like it but we do love tradition and these girls love to dress up... so we took them to the local mini golf/driving range as we have done in the past to support local businesses and let the gals play free mini golf... we brought with us Snow White and "Skylar". :)

we got wet but we had fun...

and someone had a hole in one! :) Soccer uniform and everything  :)

on the ACTUAL Halloween holiday we went to Harvest supper at church and ate dinner with the newlyweds :) so fun!

piñata for little people... or rather... little girls :)

and because of a CRAZY WILD wind storm that swept through Northern New England and missing THREE DAYS OF SCHOOL... the character parade at school as post-poned. It felt like this holiday lasted for a week... The girls have to dress up like a character from a book... Minnie was "Coach Hyatt" from Coach Hyatt is a Riot and well... Miss B....
