The Weekend Report

This weekend was the annual road race ~ Click on the following links for past years.

and Miss B's FIRST race!!!

First we cheered on our favorite Sunday school teacher...

and friends....

and cousin!!!!

Minnie was SO proud of him!

Miss B was too!

and after MUCH ad-do it was time for the kid's race. It was only my two gals and one other (the cutie in the funny pink hat :)

and my gals were READY!!!

Minnie took off like a SHOT and she got a HUGE lead....

Bringing up the rear... :)

Thank GOODNESS for Daddy's track girls to cheer yah on and finish up strong winning against the little ones :)
....

BUT SHE FINISHED WELL!!!

and isn't that all that matters? :)

Well, that and the lollipop of course :)

When we got home we started in with our "Wood-working" party... with Husband down and out this summer we were way behind with wood... our friends and family came out and in the matter of a few hours... about 5 and 1/2 cord of wood is stacked and ready to go to keep up warm this winter. I can't talk about it because it brings me to tears, but the generosity of our family and friends with their time, resources, finances and physical help is overwhelming to us...

We will never be able to express how grateful we are....

and how loved we feel....

A VERY productive weekend...

A Post for Bethany

CountryMum treated me and took my gals for a couple of hours in the AM... I treated her and we had lunch at the beach with friends... a perfect morning...

This made my heart happy... let's play in the "dirt" again soon.... or maybe the snow? :)

Husband's Leg ~ An Update (GRAPHIC PICTURES)

On Tuesday last week we went back to the wound clinic to meet with the surgeon. She was not quite as over the moon excited as she was the first follow-up post surgery. She had hoped that the donor site would have "taken" to the oasis (a skin graft for a skin graft) and unfortunately for whatever reason Husband's body pretty much rejected it. He had hoped Tuesday would be his LAST visit but she wanted to see him again on Thursday.

Also, unfortunately I didn't snag any pictures on Thursday because we had the little people with us and I was in and out of the room. You would have been able to tell a difference. On Tuesday they put pads on his wounds with "the good stuff"... silver... and on Thursday there was DRAMATIC improvement. He is still wrapped BUT it is dressing changes he can do himself and PRAISE THE LORD OH MY SOUL the man can TAKE A SHOWER!!!!! :) He was thrilled with that news! :) Only every other day of course but he'll take it at this point. He goes back on Monday and maybe THEN he will be released from the wound clinic... 10ish weeks later....

A day FILLED with friends

I realized I was remiss in posting these MORE THAN ADORABLE pictures of a couple of weeks back. We had a great fun-filled Saturday with some friends. The annual apple fest and then time with the redheads and their kiddos! :)

you know it is fall when....

the men who make our dreams come true... staying home with our babies....

the art of getting the kiddos to all 1) SIT and 2) SMILE at the same time...

and then the Dad over the shoulder saying FUNNY FACES FUNNY FACES!!! :)

After quick naps the gals and I headed north to the big city to meet up with HB and Laura Jane. Haven't seen these girls or their kiddos in FOR.EV.ER. Was fun to catch up but tough to do with little people all OVER a park :)

My big girl had a BLAST!

and it was a BLAST to watch this one :) He is 110% boy and so full of LIFE!

CAN'T EVEN STAND the cuteness of this one :) Love him!

I love these girls.

A great day spent with friends... fun for everyone!
