School Dayz

Character Parade at School Today... hoping it is outside on the field or else no one will see her face paint.... dang masks....

Last night was ALL kinds of fun at the Mouse House... packing goodie bags for all 200 of the kiddos at Miss B's school.....

MIL came for dinner and didn't know there was going to be a packing party but she's always up for adventure and even though Nikki LOOKS like she is giving the stink eye... I ASSURE you she was NOT...HAHAHAHAHA

and then these guys showed up!!!! I posted on our town FB page and shared it on my personal page that the school was looking for football and kickball/playground ball donations. We have not been able to do our annual holiday fair that raises around $10,000 for our school for two years now and funds are dwindling... MY people STEPPED UP! One of our local firemen donated, sweet Heather ordered one, and these guys....

Daws texted me the night I posted and said "I will get ALL the kickballs" and I cried....and he did.... HE BOUGHT 10!!! TEN KICKBALLS!!!!! I think I asked for SIX! Love him.

Sure do love our community and school....and my people that spoil my kids.... course it doesn't make it hard when they are this cute!

The Weekend Report

Friday night the gals had a sleepover and I dug deep (we all know I HATE leaving my house on Friday night) and suggested to go to Rochester with my favorite date. LOVE HIM!

We had the most amazing meal... so so YUMMY! The only thing I will do differently next time is ask for the chicken to be grilled... it was DELICIOUS!

Husband was super happy with his choice too....

a GINORMOUS chicken cordon bleu sandwich on a pretzel roll...

We walked the length of the huge shopping plaza after just to move our bodies... ha ha! So yummy!

Saturday morning I picked up Miss B for riding lessons (sad no pics) and Penney jumped in to keep hanging with Minnie... Please note NO C-LINE at this soccer game... poor gal had broken her arm the night before on a ripstick and they were unable to set it in the ER so she had surgery on Monday... poor love....gals did hang with little sister though :)

Miss B's team WON! And it was her last game!

Girl LIVES for the medal...

Remember? :)

Saturday afternoon Husband and Eric went to take down a couple of trees at his cousin's house and lookie who came for a visit when they got home... awwww Koda....I was texting Heather and we were laughing when I sent her.....

THIS picture! DISCUS is LESS than impressed!

We really try hard NOT to do sports on Sunday mornings. It is just not a good fit for our family. We enjoy being in church together and when we miss it the whole week just feels "off"... but... this was playoffs and the last time Minnie will play travel... next year she will likely do school only as a big 7th grader!! It was early, far away and COLD but I was so happy to be in the sunshine with this crew!

Although it was not the BEST game... I still love watching her play!

Best Little Sister Fans EVER!!!!

Good thing this was the end... because on Monday afternoon we found out that Minnie was a close contact so she is shut down from in-person learning and all extra-curricular until Saturday... It definitely makes it easier I think when there is nothing on the calendar.....

Dreaded Two Words....

"New Recipe"

My gals HATE it when I say I have something NEW to try! But I am SICK of everything and needing to mix it up and spend some time in my kitchen... I miss it... So I have definitely been on a KICK the past two weeks... and here are the links and reviews....

This was a DEFINITE win! And one that I will make again! I did not put in the pepperoncini and I used onion vs. shallots... I took my Italian al fresco sausage out of its casing... so I tweaked it a bunch but they were really yummy... and I had NEVER done the whole soaking bread thing but Miss B helped me with them and we both thought that was fun! She clearly takes after Titi so that's why there is a part of the skillet with no cheese... weirdo....

This was Saturday night dinner... Husband was helping to cut down a tree so Minnie and I made these knowing they would stay warm and we could all eat whenever we wanted... SO SO YUMMY! We will make these again for a party for sure... I haven't roasted a garlic in years if ever... I can't remember and it was SO SO YUMMY!!!

Husband even ate them cold the next day after Minnie's soccer game and said it was still really good!! Another WIN! Well.... at least for 3 out of 4 of us... Miss B ATE it but I wouldn't say it was her favorite... course again with the cheese and she often doesn't dig bread either... (I tell yah I have no idea where she came from) but she didn't squawk so I think if we do them and there are other food options she'd be happy ;)

This was AMAZING! AND SOOOO EASY.... Even easier because I already had chicken that was cooked and shredded in the freezer so I turned the crockpot on high and it was done, hot and ready in 3 hours. So again... I tweaked this one by using cooked chicken... I put in LESS than a 1/4 cup of hot sauce and it was PLENTY hot enough for me but Husband wanted more... and I TRY but I don't really dig blue cheese... So I put a little bit but I brought it for lunch and I'm going to have it plain. I did find I needed more chicken broth probably because I didn't cook the raw chicken in it.... I also used cream of celery soup instead of cream of chicken...

So YUMMY! And NO the girls did NOT eat this... buffalo, soup and bean... NONE of that interested them so it was a perfect Sunday night thing that Husband and I can do for lunches this week.

The last recipe we tried I did not snag any pictures of... let it be known for anyone that DOESN'T already... I HATE SHEPHERDS PIE. YUCK. HATE IT. It is Husband's absolute fav! He loves Shepherd's pie with fries and gravy on both... bleck. So... we NEVER have it... whoopsie... but I did find this recipe that may be a compromise once in a while... it is FULL ON comfort food and perfect for a cozy fall/winter day... He and I loved it... gals not so much... One to put in the rotation maybe once in the fall and once in the winter... it makes a ton, is super filling and I'll keep you posted on how it freezes because obviously we had to freeze some even after I shared it with FOUR of my co-workers.... it's THAT filling... the only thing I think I did differently was we used corn that I had cut off the cob and frozen and I did petite peas to have some green in it... otherwise I stayed true to the recipe.... YUM-MY!

Sunday (of the Weekend Report)

The weekend was filled with soccer soccer and more soccer....but Sunday was the only day I pulled my camera out to capture the baby rednecks....

Minnie had her friend Sky (yep another one) with her after their soccer game... Husband had made plans to meet up with Aaron to do some target practice in the sandpit they own... my gals were all about it... Sky was there for the snacks :)

I was trying to get them to show me their serious faces... hee hee hee

Guns DEFINITELY make me nervous... I don't like the sound of them and I don't like the cause and effect of them but I DO LIKE men that teach their children gun SAFETY. How to use them, how to respect them, when to shoot them and how to store them.

And... that they are not just for boys....

Girl was in the circle almost EVERY SINGLE TIME!

She must get it from her Nana.... ;)
