While Husband is Away...

The Mouse House girls will...
Eat strawberries on the deck in our underwear...

After falling in love again with the kiddie pool...

Unless you are the Mom and you wear your bathing suit...

Sky anyone?

We'll dress up the baby...

just because it makes us ALL laugh...

We'll watch Do-Do eat vast amounts of pizza, donuts, ice cream and MEGA-stuffed Oreos...

and we'll of course join in because no one likes to eat alone...

We'll be entertained on HOT HOT HUMID days with our friends...

and we'll sneak over...

to whisper to each other "nope...still not sleeping through the night...you either? FUN huh?"

We'll enjoyed the part where Sky was with us during the day kicking off summer...

and add in some strawberry picking in 90 degree heat with 110% humidity...

Ring around the strawberry mouth...

We'll end our time without Daddy by spending an ENTIRE DAY (post strawberry picking)

in UNCLE L'S POOL!!!

AND LOVE EVERY SINGLE SECOND OF IT...

BECAUSE ALL THE COUSINS SHOWED UP!!!

well... except for the workin' man...

and the W GIRLS!!!!

don't let the picture fool yah... there was none of THIS during the nighttime hours... but....

It's OK now because Mama plans to SLEEP... sing our song with me...

"DADDY'S HOME YEAH! DADDY'S HOME YEAH! DADDY'S HOME YEAH!!!"

Oncologist Appointment

Thanks to those who checked in RE SIL Bets appointment. My apologies for not getting this updated right away... Husband has just returned from his annual fishing trip ~ 5 nights this year...and you all know how much I miss him like crazy and stay as busy as possible.

The three of us (SIL L, Bets and I) met with Dr. D? Dr. E? I keep getting confused with which one is his first name and which one is his last :) and he was GREAT. We all liked him very much. He is optimistic and had a plan all laid out for us. Chemo will start as soon as they can get a port in so probably the 3rd week in July... running every 2 weeks... she'll go into their office to get it ~ taking 3 hours and then have the chemo sent home with her on a pump at home for 48 hours ~ she'll go back to the office to have the pump removed and then have 12 days off... and back at it again... shouldn't loose her hair or yiff but might feel "off" ~ fatigue will be the biggest thing... she's looking at this schedule for the next 6 months.

Physically, she's doing OK and got her staples out yesterday... mentally... we are ALL staying positive and ask that you do as well....looking for a cure here. :)

She has a genetist appointment tomorrow with the same one that Husband saw and he's going to that appointment with his sister. Helping the scientists to try and put together a puzzle. Whatever THAT means :)

Thanks for the prayers and keep 'em comin'.

An Update on SIL Bets

Pathology reports are back... and today SIL L and I have been asked by Bets to go with her to her appt with her new oncologist. Seriously. You never think that it is going to be YOUR family that has "an oncologist". Tough stuff.

The tumor had spread and the cancer was in fact in more than 50% of her lymph nodes. We are looking at Stage 3 colon cancer dead in the eye. And by dead... I mean the cancer. Done with it being the bodies of the people that I love. Please. DONE.

The Dr. today will explain to us what that means and what treatment will look like to get our girl healthy and back to herself as quick as possible. Prayers today would be for a treatment plan, for comfort in the medical staff we (she) will be working with and of course for the kiddos as they watch their Mama deal with this nasty disease head on.
A special THANK YOU to a conversation that had nothing to do with SIL Bets but was most definitely God ordained in that sweet "Yiz"'s Mom reminded me of Psalm 91. I happened to have my Message version Bible in church this AM and looked it up. What amazing words to cling to in this time of darkness. Isn't HE always THERE? :)

Psalm 91

The Message (MSG)

91 1-13 You who sit down in the High God’s presence,
spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow,
Say this: “God, you’re my refuge.
I trust in you and I’m safe!”
That’s right—he rescues you from hidden traps,
    shields you from deadly hazards.
His huge outstretched arms protect you—
    under them you’re perfectly safe;
his arms fend off all harm.
Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night,
not flying arrows in the day,
Not disease that prowls through the darkness,    not disaster that erupts at high noon.
Even though others succumb all around,
drop like flies right and left,
no harm will even graze you.
You’ll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance,
watch the wicked turn into corpses.
Yes, because God’s your refuge,
the High God your very own home,
Evil can’t get close to you,
harm can’t get through the door.
He ordered his angels
to guard you wherever you go.
If you stumble, they’ll catch you;
their job is to keep you from falling.
You’ll walk unharmed among lions and snakes,
and kick young lions and serpents from the path.
14-16 “If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God,
“I’ll get you out of any trouble.
I’ll give you the best of care
if you’ll only get to know and trust me.
Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times;
I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.
I’ll give you a long life,
give you a long drink of salvation!”
