The REST of February Break

Gals were able to sign up for a bball camp at the high school for the week from 8-12! They had SUCH a great time and learned a ton. Bummer about missing Tuesday and then again on Thursday because of a snow storm but still happy for the opportunity!

Husband got to FINALLY do some fishing... Minnie met him at this lake after bball one day and had a blast... 

Miss B came with CountryMum and I so that my eye doc could dilate my eyes... I HATE having my eyes dilated... BUT... the minor imperfections she saw last year are completely GONE and I have no signs of retinopathy! That is VERY good news for a T1D! 

but pretty much how I spent the evening...

On Thursday in the middle of a snowstorm we took Barks to the vet... he's been limping for about 3ish weeks off and on and we just needed to make sure it wasn't anything more serious... :(

It is an "elbow" sprain but one that requires strict REST... FOR A 10 MONTH OLD PUPPY.... BRUTAL.

On Friday after bball gals and I were picked up by HTed and Ella and we hit the shops to grab things from the "Sunshine Fund" for the teachers for MARCH... March is a BRUTAL month in a school so we have planned something fun for them for ALMOST every day!!!

Excited! :)

On Friday night the gals talked me into a sleepover which in hindsight wasn't the best idea because of the dog on bedrest... but they had a blast and it was a fun way to end vaca....

But the REAL end was a fishing derby at the pond in town where MC was in 4th until the BITTER END.....Poor gal... she was REALLY hoping to place... and poor Husband... once he saw the 5 Heritage traps she would have won... he was SUPER bummed for her too!! 

PHEW... a busy, full and FUN va-ca!!

Road Trip: Rugby Game at UNH

Oh the CountryRents! They make me laugh! countryMum got into the car and said "I'm so excited to see my FIRST rugby game!!!" I responded with... "Well... I hope you are not disappointed because Sky plays LACROSSE"... HAHAHAHAHAHA oh we giggled about that all day.... 

The weather was BRUTAL... BUT could have been straight up pouring rain... and the company was fantastic!!

We LOVE watching our #1!

She killed it out there and CountryDad had a blast watching her ON.HER.HOME.FIELD. that until we got there he thought was UNH.... Oh.my.goodness. Again with the giggles....

There was a HOT second when her entire fan club was standing with her and I KICK myself for not asking someone to take a group photo... especially since it would have come out WAY better than the succession of these pics... hahahaha

A GREAT road trip, super fun company and we LOVE a WIN!!!

The best laid plans...

I had ALL kinds of high hopes to get started on my kitchen chairs... this restoration project has been on my "list" for oh... no less than 3 years or so but it just overwhelms me to even BEGIN... I do LOVE restoring furniture once I get into the project it was just GETTING INTO it that was the tricky part ;) So I gathered my supplies... and thought I would get 2.... but really FOUR done by the end of vacation....  

Nasty before pics....but I mean... they have probably only been SCRUBBED down once in 21 years with 2 kids and a gazillion dogs, a cat and a million friends and family sitting in them :) maybe not TOO bad...

ok yah... def. bad! This is the tub after I had rinsed most of the YUCK off... gross.

And here is the beginning... chair on the right has been sanded... chair on the left has not... my plan was/is? to stain the top of the chair and chalk paint the bottom black... I will do the same to the table... chalk paint covers poly so I knew I wouldn't have to sand all those little nooks and crannies...

Little did I know these nooks and crannies did not have the poly come off... :( as soon as I put the stain on I KNEW there was still poly on them... I could see it or feel it but OBVIOUSLY you can SEE it now...

I got so discouraged that I took one of the chairs and started TRYING to get more of the poly off but really... when I think about the fact that there are SIX OF THEM....

I think *THIS* will be a LOVELY option don't you?

The Weekend Report

Family birthday parties where I got to snuggle this man....

and the cousin crew was in FULL force!

Big girl went out with Husband and I thought this fish was SO PRETTY!!! So is she :)

and THIS is FINALLY FIXED!

Hooray for having my XL back!!! Now if only my window would roll down... grrr...good thing it's still WINTER...
