The Weekend Report

With Husband and Minnie off on their trip... it was just Miss B and THIS guy... who puked on Friday AM at 6:15.... puked on Saturday AM... and just generally caused a ruckus... it's a good thing he's cute.

On Friday night Miss B had a bball game... lost 84 to SIX... 6.... Poor gal was super upset... so we made popcorn and snuggled on the couch after game recap with Daddy on the phone. On Saturday AM we hung out with Barks and then headed up to hit a few stores in the big city before... oh you know... going over to meet an OLYMPIC athlete!!!!

It was the annual diabetes summit and this year the speaker was Charlotte Drury, an alternate in the Tokyo Olympics!!!

Bonus hanging with this guy!!! The conference was REALLY not attended well but that just meant that we had more 1x1 time with the speakers and MC made it out of there with a "prize" a bag filled with low blood sugar snacks... aka bag 'o candy
and Miss B and I left there all tatted up :)

Meanwhile 3+ hours north they were living their best lives :)

On Sunday Miss B and I did church, some quick groceries and came home to hang and wait for our crew!

I got a quick lesson in a "jaw-jacker"...

and all was right in my world again...

Felt SUPER fast but fun for EVERYONE!

Bball

While this gal still has a few more games....

This girl's 7th grade bball season is over...

They ended on Wednesday night with a W and clearly she was PSYCHED about it

It was SO fun to watch her... how far she came and how far her TEAM came

We had the same two refs for our last game as we did for our first. They both went up to Husband at the end of the game singing his praises and how far he had brought the girls and how much they had grown. I had been telling him that for weeks but I think coming from the refs it meant so.much.more.

They survived and honestly I wasn't even a little worried... they had a good system in place where she would typically ride home with him no matter what, they could debrief the game and go back to just being Daddy/Daughter. Leaving the next night for their annual ice fishing trip together... "icing" on the cake for sure. Perfect timing!
So proud of this guy... I have always said he is the BEST COACH ever... and watching this season made it even more true. Amazing!

W Gals!

Husband and Minnie left for their annual ice fishing trip on Thursday afternoon... Tamarah was 2 towns over for a bball game for Lil and said that they were on their own for dinner so she was going to stop on their way home... Of course I asked if she wanted company... :) 1) hang with the W gals... YES PLEASE 2) not have to cook dinner... um... YAY!!!

It was the perfect way to kick off our girls weekend with all the FUN of the W gals and yummy food.... that took WAY.TOO.LONG. to get :) We all missed Minnie but she was happy to be with the guys for her adventure :)

The Weekend Report

On Friday we got hit with a snow day... it was a GREAT day to just catch up at home, laundry, hang out, etc...
These two pots on my stove at the same time make me so happy. I love them so much!
On Saturday the gals had arranged for some friends to come over. They typically end up with sister groups which.we.LOVE. but this was fun to get two different ones from different families.
They crammed a lot into 10-4... played outside at our house with Barks...
Watched a movie all together...
Had homemade mac and cheese for lunch and then we headed out...

SLEDDING!!!

SO FUN!

Came back for cocoa, cookies and an epic game of UNO before one of them was picked up and I ran this gal home.

Pretty much summed up how we felt... WHEW so fun and all so....

Tired!!

The Weeks Goings Ons

It was a LOT...you should probably grab a coffee...

On Tuesday it was the highly anticipated next town over rivalry bball game! When I sent my morning email to my staff I invited them all to come and watch T v. C... this girl right here is new to our school as a 2nd grade teacher. She comes with YEARS of experience, runs a SUPER tight ship in her classroom, makes everything fun for her kids and genuinely was meant to teach tiny people. Bonus... she's been SO fun to get to know, we have tons in common and just a good time! The fact that her daughter was on the other team... minor infraction :) This was the ONLY pic I took but there was a celebrity sighting with Aunt Nancy, all the grandparents and TiTi. The game was rough but the worst part was the other coach... our "friend" after being up more than 25 points... full court pressing and put her starting 5 back in with 1 minute to go to just put three's in to run the score. Post-game it shouldn't have come as a surprise that her players posted nastiness on "snaptwitagram". Sportsmanship starts at the top with the coach. Disappointing that it can't just be a clean rivalry with a "good game" at the end. Thankful that between MY GIRL and this girl's GIRL... it was.

On Wednesday AM Husband was woken up by what he thought was a gunshot or an explosion of some sort a few minutes before his alarm at 4:45. By the time he brought the coffee all we could see through the woods from our bedroom window was red and blue flashing lights. Heather sent a group text to our neighbors saying "the junkyard is on fire". SO SCARY. My pics are terrible... but you can sort of see the smoke...this was Miss B and I leaving our private road...

The white stick looking thing is the ladder truck up and over the garage

and the view from the end of my driveway... orange cones blocking the end of the main road.

Thank GOODNESS the house is still standing. The family of six that lives here have tiny people that go to Miss B's school and when the original pics came out we thought the whole home was gone. We had heard early on that everyone was safe THANK GOODNESS but we were worried about their home. To see it still standing was amazing. Even better was that when the gals and I came home on Wednesday night they were IN their home watching TV.

Because of the major road being closed, 7 towns responding to the fire, the elementary school being used as a command center in addition to the hydrant there and buses not able to get through this girl had a 2 hour delay. Marisa said she could just zip up with me and I was planning on bringing her to school but our 504 coordinator was headed in that direction so she just brought her along... worked slick :)
Back to back bball nights... we were back in our gym and this girl working hard

They worked until the bitter end...

and we came up down by 8....

but this girl... man... she works and works out on that court... never giving up... running her legs off and trying until that buzzer rings. She makes me so proud....

She was devastated as she usually is with the loss but she hustled from the locker room... for one last snuggle....
7 SHORT WEEKS AGO!!!
They are leaving for their forever homes this weekend so we took the SUPER quick opportunity to snuggle them up one last time...

The one that is blurry would not stop crying until I picked him up...

I mean....

I mean SERIOUSLY...

This was the last litter for sweet Layla girl... SO thankful we were there for them ALL. It is not lost on me HOW BLESSED we are to have access to BERNESE MOUNTAIN DOG PUPPIES.
SUPER excited to see what our breeder and friend does next...

Because this litter turned out FAIRLY AMAZING :)
