Minnie: 18 Months

Dear Minnie,
Happy 18 month birthday my little love! I can't believe we are 1/2 way to 2. STOP STOP STOP. You are a JOY and a DELIGHT my little one! Your vocabulary over the past few weeks has just taken OFF! You are saying REAL words and a lot of them! A lot of it seems pretty clear to me but I spend 24 hours a day 7 days a week with you :) You are quickly learning your friends names and associating them with their Mama's. I think that is just the sweetest thing. When I mention Liz, you say PeeBeeee. When I say Auntie J.T. you say DeeenDee! You know who goes with who and I think it is AMAZING that in our little circle of friends your friends are with THEIR Mama's 24/7 too! :) We are blessed women.

The weather has been kinda stinky the past few weeks but we've tried to make the best of it by having fun with salt dough, playing with Nana and Pa-Pa and getting outside even when it is raining.

The sun seems to have returned though and you are LOVING it! You will go in and out the deck door a million times a day and I think because of all the outside time you have no LESS than a MILLION bug bites! Poor girl!

Your spirit is still so very sweet and I am noticing that you are giving hugs and loving on all those you meet and see. You LOVE to ride in the buggy's at stores and holler "hi!!!" as we shop. LOVE IT!

Your FAVORITE time of day is when Daddy gets home and you have pretty much dropped the "Da-Da" and refer to him most of the time as Da-ddY. The "eeeee" sound accentuated.

You still go to bed between 6:30-7ish and have recently become OBSESSED with your bink and your bear. You call them BOTH "Beeeeeyah" which pretty much sounds like beer and cracks most people up with giggles.

You're still not a great eater but will do pasta, fruit, burger, and "nacks". We still have to do some baby foods with you just to get some variety and veggies into you. You are wearing size 4 diapers and we have started wearing size 4 OVERNIGHTS when you go to bed. Most of your clothes are between 18 months and 2T. Sweatshirts a little bigger. You are in a size 6 shoe, except your new sneakers that are a 7!!!! I'm sorry my love. I'm afraid you are going to have your Mama's feet. Don't worry, you'll be in good company with Liz and GA. :) Somehow we all managed and none of us tip over :)

I know you won't remember much from these days my goose, but I hope that I am building the blocks of our future by fostering an environment of fun, love, silly, structure, and giggles.

You make ME smile on an almost minute by minute basis.... and I hope you grow up knowing how much you are loved!By FAR, one of my most FAVORITE things about you right now though is watching you learn by example and PRAISE JESUS :) You LOVE your Christian music... or "Muuunik" as you like to call it and I caught you standing in front of the TV the other day when Jeremy Camp was on with your hand lifted to the sky.

Just when I think that I am over-obsessed with you and how much love I have in my heart for you, I am reminded of our Heavenly Father and how obsessed and in love with you HE is!

Happy 18 months sweet sweet girl! Your Daddy and I are loving EVERY second with you and enjoying every MINUTE! You are the light of our lives and we are SO thankful that God hand-picked YOU for our family. You are PERFECT!

Fun at the Park with Dani!

Minnie: Come on DEE-DEE!!! Our Mama's said we could play at the park!!!! Dani: yaaaHOOOOO let's hurry up my preggo Mom (who's carrying all my stuff) and put my things down!!!

Dani: Seriously dude, what's up with the sunscreen we just got doused with and WHY is your HAT so BIG!?

Minnie: I know right. Ack. Mom!

Minnie: It's all good though once we get on the swings!!! "more! more!!"

Both: WHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEE

"New" ChA-Yah"

On Tuesday afternoon Husband brought home a hand-me-down CHAIR from none other than the mother of the RN that helped birth MINNIE that just JUST mentioned the other day :) Minnie LOVES "cha-yahs" (say it in your best redneck, you know you wanna)

and this pretty princess chair was no different. It was LOVE at first SIGHT :)

Speaking of rednecks....

Thank you Mrs. W for our new "cha-yah"! It has been a constant source of fun since it arrived! :)

The Weekend Re-Cap: Part II LLLLLLLLAAAAAAHHHHHHH-NNNNAAAAHHHHH

It was a weekend full of festivities ~ Party Friday, track meet Saturday, party SUNDAY!!We were invited to the Sunshine house to celebrate two years of life for the littlest Sunshine. Minnie was her only "little" friend that she invited and we felt SOOOO special. How neat! Six months apart and these two are FAST friends!

Momma Sunshine did a Dr. Suess theme and it was FAN-TAS-TIC! SO FUN! SO CREATIVE and there is nothing I love more than a party with a theme! :)

Pretty sure this was the ONLY moment my girl sat DOWN OR sat "still":)

Except of course when certain people who shall remain NAMELESS *might* have been feeding her, her weight in mini-M&M's.

Which of course we ended up seeing AGAIN later in the evening. Thankfully it was Daddy that was holding her and it landed on the kitchen floor. Easier to clean up :) We *might* have spent a restless night with much crying and time awake in the middle of the night...but I'm not sure you can deny this little one... "mooohaaahhh??" :)

Fun games of "put the Wocket in the b-day girl's pocket" :)

a tasty treat table....

and even cupcakes to resemble "THING 1 AND THING 2" :)

The birthday girl was blessed ~

as were we ALL ....

spending the night with this sweet sweet family....

Happy To You sweet LAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH-NNNNNNNAAAAAHHHHHH!! We look forward to watching you grow into the little girl God has planned you to be! Love You!!!

The Weekend Re-Cap: Part I ~ Mother-in-Love

On Friday night we celebrated for MIL!!! :) She is closing one chapter of her life and embarking on a NEW adventure of.... "WHATEVER SHE WANTS!" :) There are 8 teachers that are retiring from the school that Husband teaches at and Friday night was a VERY special celebration honor them. Between the 8 people there were 270 years of service. IMPRESSIVE.

MIL is NOT a fan of any sort of public attention on her so sitting at the "table with the balloons" was NOT her thing. Good thing she has ME :) hee hee hee

This little guy could EASILY be MY thing though :) He is actually.... follow this... the grandson of one of the lady's retiring and the son of a girl that helped bring MINNIE into this world! (if you look carefully she is the one standing behind my wheel chair :) I LOVE his MAMA! :) SIL L is NOT the one you want to take to a buffet. The girl doesn't eat ANYTHING and we got giggling so bad because her plate is full of MEAT and she made poor BIL L get TWO rolls. Calling you on the carpet here L....the extra roll was to go with your extra meat. :)

*BIL L ~ your welcome for cropping you out of the pic with your mouth FULL of Caesar salad :)

One of Husband's co-workers and one of the SWEETEST lady's I know. She gave two of the 8 honoring speeches and she did a GREAT job. Husband LOVES to pick on her but she really is one of his favorites :)

The honoree :)

This is another teacher who is retiring. He is Husband's "Work-BFF" :) I have no idea what Husband will do next year without this man. And after listening to his co-workers rave about him I think they will all feel the vacancy and a sense of loss. He has been at that school since before I WAS BORN :) I look forward to hearing about his travels with his wife who's also a teacher that is retiring and having him show up to go fishing with Husband :)

The whole reason WE were all there....MIL!!! :) She is one of a kind and I don't think that school will know how valuable she has been to them until next September when they are all scrambling around. I am excited to see all of the doors that open for her now though as her days are freed up and she is welcomed with OPEN arms into the days of.....

"6 Saturdays followed by a Sunday...."

Happy Retirement Mama! You DESERVE it!
