The Weekend Re-Cap: Part I ~ Mother-in-Love

On Friday night we celebrated for MIL!!! :) She is closing one chapter of her life and embarking on a NEW adventure of.... "WHATEVER SHE WANTS!" :) There are 8 teachers that are retiring from the school that Husband teaches at and Friday night was a VERY special celebration honor them. Between the 8 people there were 270 years of service. IMPRESSIVE.

MIL is NOT a fan of any sort of public attention on her so sitting at the "table with the balloons" was NOT her thing. Good thing she has ME :) hee hee hee

This little guy could EASILY be MY thing though :) He is actually.... follow this... the grandson of one of the lady's retiring and the son of a girl that helped bring MINNIE into this world! (if you look carefully she is the one standing behind my wheel chair :) I LOVE his MAMA! :) SIL L is NOT the one you want to take to a buffet. The girl doesn't eat ANYTHING and we got giggling so bad because her plate is full of MEAT and she made poor BIL L get TWO rolls. Calling you on the carpet here L....the extra roll was to go with your extra meat. :)

*BIL L ~ your welcome for cropping you out of the pic with your mouth FULL of Caesar salad :)

One of Husband's co-workers and one of the SWEETEST lady's I know. She gave two of the 8 honoring speeches and she did a GREAT job. Husband LOVES to pick on her but she really is one of his favorites :)

The honoree :)

This is another teacher who is retiring. He is Husband's "Work-BFF" :) I have no idea what Husband will do next year without this man. And after listening to his co-workers rave about him I think they will all feel the vacancy and a sense of loss. He has been at that school since before I WAS BORN :) I look forward to hearing about his travels with his wife who's also a teacher that is retiring and having him show up to go fishing with Husband :)

The whole reason WE were all there....MIL!!! :) She is one of a kind and I don't think that school will know how valuable she has been to them until next September when they are all scrambling around. I am excited to see all of the doors that open for her now though as her days are freed up and she is welcomed with OPEN arms into the days of.....

"6 Saturdays followed by a Sunday...."

Happy Retirement Mama! You DESERVE it!
