All The Things

From helping out at track practice... to playing in summer soccer games... it can all happen on the same night... thank GOODNESS Minnie has a handle on her schedule and just tells us where she needs/wants to be when....

It was very strange to bring my gals to their first summer track meet... alone... (Husband was competing in a golf tournament) and then send Minnie off to WORK the meet and not compete... and just have one kid (outta 111) that I got to follow around all day :)

SO grateful for the program Husband has created that the kids who have aged out WANT to come back to help wrangle 8 and unders and rake long jump pits for 3 hours!

Miss B rocked it IN.THE.RAIN. coming in 4th in discus and 3rd in jav....

and just for fun... the 4x100m with her buds because... it's SUMMER. :)

Hit the Ground Running

No rest for the weary.... on Tuesday, the day after Husband and I were done with school we headed to his orthopedic appointment for his hips... back in 2008ish he was told he needed a double hip replacement and he told his Dr he was going to wait until his was 50.... fast forward to 56 and Husband is READY....

He has bone spurs on both hips, both are rubbing bone on bone and the dr when pulling up his xray from 2008 and compared it to Tuesday said... "you're a trooper". Yikes. So... with Husband's activity level and "good health".....both will be done at the.same.time. this fall.....

Thank goodness for THIS new piece of equipment to help this summer :) Happy Birthday to US!!!

FIRST flowers of the summer... ok the ranunculus came from Traders but still...I got ONE peony this year... sad. :(

Minnie asked for Abbey to come over... and easy peasy to just tuck her in when we went to the parent meeting for......

SUMMER TRACK....

Some of our favs were not going to be able to make the meeting so they popped over and they love some Abbey too so it was FUN to watch how excited they got!!

the caption "she's a whole vibe" could NOT be more fitting for Phoebe!

End of School Dayz....

My PK kids came in because they "mustache" me a question on National Mustache Day! Who knew such a thing exists!? Apparently my PK teaachers!

She held a sign for him... and he held a sign for me to take a picture of for HER!

Because Minnie had TWO days of a State meet (the 2nd day was just to support) Miss B happily came along to my 5th grade celebration simply to hang with Cerise's kids...

she LOVED it!

Mouse House did the SPRING well... fall and winter were rough 'round these parts for some but in Spring...we THRIVED! So proud of my THREE!!!!

Freshman year. DONE. Whew. That went WAY faster than I hoped. :(

One more year until the "big house".....I *might* be talking about the guy in orange behind her... hee hee

I can't... I just CAN'T....

OH MY SWEET TINY PEOPLE AT MY SCHOOL....

Ice cream DATE!!!! LOVE THEM for doing this for ME!!!!

AND bonus to have Ruby!!

Ended the last day of school with some friends at their beautiful property....

Hanging around a campfire, eating steamed hot dogs, simultaneously listening to the kids outdoor movie and 90's grunge rock while the kids play water bottle baseball... is there any BETTER way to kick off a Maine summer? I think not.

State Track Meet

Because of the weather report for the weekend the MPA made the decision to reschedule all the State Meets to the following TUESDAY. Our Class A meet moved from Bangor down to Lewiston (yah for Miss B and I) but BOO because it was FINALS WEEK.... the poor kids were stressed about finals, their performances and oh yah... the meet didn't start until 2PM...which meant a leave time of 10:30-11ish... and oh by the way... we didn't know until we got there... Lewiston doesn't have LIGHTS on their field... so if they didn't finish.... everyone would have to come BACK the next day but likely not Lewiston. Seriously? Who runs this show anyway??

Her buddy was ready though... I went to work for a 1/2 day and met MIL and Miss B at the Mouse House having taken care of Barks until the neighbors came home and let him out and hung with him in the evening. It takes a village I tell yah and I'm grateful for mine.

MIL, Miss B and I snagged pretty decent SEATS (we typically don't have time to sit at a meet but at States everything is blocked off and we were able to see for the most part all we wanted to). Minnie was on the infield behind the long/triple jump pits and near the finish line... we were able to hang for a while...

I could tell my girl was in PAIN.... she had a great warm up throw but then I kept watching her stretch, talk to her dad and stretch and work it out with C-Line. Something was def. up.

Cheering on CHUCK and the 4x800m team!!!

While she did not do what she had HOPED to at her FIRST STATE MEET AND AS A FRESHMAN.... Husband's girls taking 2nd, 4th and 6th places on the podium....

DANG IMPRESSIVE,

He was happy.... drizzle, cool temps, injured and pulled out a 4th place in the STATE as a freshman.... couldn't be prouder!!!

Well... then the pictures stopped... we got up from the bleachers and meandered over to discus which was Minnie's next and final event... we chatted along the way... visited with our track peeps... and found a place to watch disc....

I don't want to get into it on the blog.... but let's just say...a girl was warming up, threw a rogue disc, tiny people were sitting on the ground with me, it came so fast that no one could react and the sound I heard when it made contact sounded like it hit the metal chair that MIL was in behind me.... but when I asked what was hit... and I turned around she was holding her knee and peeped out "meeee"... I thought for SURE she was SHATTERED.... THANK GOODNESS for an emergency room RN, a couple bags of ice/melted water and tough MIL..... she valiantly stayed for Minnie's throws and then I went to get the car.... I called SIL L to pick up MIL's car at our house and meet me at her house....

Sky took her the next morning (per the ER RN suggestion that we didn't need to go to urgent care that NIGHT) and Sky was convinced it was broken.... nope... not broken thank THE GOOD LORD... but she is sportin' some pretty colors and is wearing things that cover her knees? :) I can't imagine why..... :)

SO grateful.... so VERY grateful.....

Weekend Report

What SHOULD have been us going to Bang-gher for Minnie's State track meet... actually had us at the walk-in for Miss B. Minnie's meet was canceled due to impending rain and potential thunderstorms and Miss B had been complaining of her ankle hurting since her banquet. It was def. swollen and very bruised and with her history... we were a little concerned....

but thank GOODNESS all for naught. I would MUCH rather be able to sleep at night knowing she didn't have yet ANOTHER broken bone that lay awake concerned...

We met up with some of the W girls for a fun trip out and about...

and ended the weekend learning life skills....

and getting ready for the rescheduled State Track Meet.....
