State Track Meet

Because of the weather report for the weekend the MPA made the decision to reschedule all the State Meets to the following TUESDAY. Our Class A meet moved from Bangor down to Lewiston (yah for Miss B and I) but BOO because it was FINALS WEEK.... the poor kids were stressed about finals, their performances and oh yah... the meet didn't start until 2PM...which meant a leave time of 10:30-11ish... and oh by the way... we didn't know until we got there... Lewiston doesn't have LIGHTS on their field... so if they didn't finish.... everyone would have to come BACK the next day but likely not Lewiston. Seriously? Who runs this show anyway??

Her buddy was ready though... I went to work for a 1/2 day and met MIL and Miss B at the Mouse House having taken care of Barks until the neighbors came home and let him out and hung with him in the evening. It takes a village I tell yah and I'm grateful for mine.

MIL, Miss B and I snagged pretty decent SEATS (we typically don't have time to sit at a meet but at States everything is blocked off and we were able to see for the most part all we wanted to). Minnie was on the infield behind the long/triple jump pits and near the finish line... we were able to hang for a while...

I could tell my girl was in PAIN.... she had a great warm up throw but then I kept watching her stretch, talk to her dad and stretch and work it out with C-Line. Something was def. up.

Cheering on CHUCK and the 4x800m team!!!

While she did not do what she had HOPED to at her FIRST STATE MEET AND AS A FRESHMAN.... Husband's girls taking 2nd, 4th and 6th places on the podium....

DANG IMPRESSIVE,

He was happy.... drizzle, cool temps, injured and pulled out a 4th place in the STATE as a freshman.... couldn't be prouder!!!

Well... then the pictures stopped... we got up from the bleachers and meandered over to discus which was Minnie's next and final event... we chatted along the way... visited with our track peeps... and found a place to watch disc....

I don't want to get into it on the blog.... but let's just say...a girl was warming up, threw a rogue disc, tiny people were sitting on the ground with me, it came so fast that no one could react and the sound I heard when it made contact sounded like it hit the metal chair that MIL was in behind me.... but when I asked what was hit... and I turned around she was holding her knee and peeped out "meeee"... I thought for SURE she was SHATTERED.... THANK GOODNESS for an emergency room RN, a couple bags of ice/melted water and tough MIL..... she valiantly stayed for Minnie's throws and then I went to get the car.... I called SIL L to pick up MIL's car at our house and meet me at her house....

Sky took her the next morning (per the ER RN suggestion that we didn't need to go to urgent care that NIGHT) and Sky was convinced it was broken.... nope... not broken thank THE GOOD LORD... but she is sportin' some pretty colors and is wearing things that cover her knees? :) I can't imagine why..... :)

SO grateful.... so VERY grateful.....
