Daddy's Girl

 Husband was gone for his annual fishing derby weekend... and not much has changed...

Thank GOODNESS he came home "EARLY" on Sunday so everything was right with her world again....

School Dayz....

Cuz really there's not much else going on.... penny counting...

The Weekend Report

 

My crew hit it early and local on Saturday morning....

couple flags but no fish... stinkers....

While my gals were fishing I went shopping with these girls... always an adventure when Sky makes up her mind about something.... ;) 

After they got it locked and loaded in the back of my school bus we hit up the MB... def. need a bigger vehicle... :) 

Sunday was SUPER BOWL DAY! I didn't take many pics of food but I did text BIL L to hurry up and come over because the spinach artichoke dip was ready... yummy!!

Rowdy games of UNO and even MIL getting in on the "on their phone" action :) hee hee hee

Sooooo THANKFUL for the crew around this table with me... we had so much fun! 

Gals headed out in the snowstorm for a little sledding in the dark... brrr.... but headlights and a couple of dogs with them and they had a blast!!!

Speaking of dogs... just a couple of gals with their dogs 💖

and then a snugglefest with Do-Do ;) 

Cuz who DOESN'T want 160 lbs of black dog in their lap while they are trying to watch the Super Bowl? :) 

Love my people all over my couches... small crew but cozy and so fun!!!!

Almost to Canada (Minnie and Daddy)

Too bad the border is closed AND they don't have passports because they drove so far north they could have gone to ANOTHER COUNTRY! I mean LOOK at that sky!

A couple of months ago Husband's buddy asked if he'd be interested in this derby. We chatted about it and both knew that trying to make it another "boy's" fishing weekend was NOT going to work for our fisher-GIRL! We explained the LONG car ride, the up and at 'em early (which has NEVER bothered her) and the missed day off school..... she was COMPLETELY ON BOARD! :) She and Husband headed North, following Miss Dayna's hubby and son who were also going up to the derby but staying with family.... and they made it there in record time :) They hit the ice early on Saturday and stayed late....

It WAS as cold as it looks in this picture... you figure if HUSBAND is dressed in layers and multiple hat type options.... it's COLD!!!! They said the wind on Saturday was the worst of it and on Sunday when it was probably even colder it didn't feel like it because of the sun and no wind.... 

They had THE BEST time and I think that was the longest I have EVER been away from Minnie. I swear she came back having grown another 2 inches and YEARS in maturity.... I'm SO happy they are home but I'm SO happy they got to do this together... they are already thinking about next year

Minnie has told me how much she LOVED it up there.... I wouldn't be interested in 8 months of winter but this sure is gorgeous....

The Weekend Report (Miss B and Mommy)

Husband and Minnie headed WAY north on Friday right after he got out of school... they entered a fishing derby on a lake that you could probably throw a rock into Canada from ;) Minnie was SO SUPER excited... that will be a separate post with pictures that I steal from the other Dad on the trip :) 

Miss B and I chatted about what we would eat and order and snack on and she decided she just wanted a grilled cheese for Friday Night Dinner :) Easy Peasy!!

On Saturday we headed up to the "big city" and did some shopping at the mall, got Wendy's (per her request) and sang along to "inappropriate drinking songs" as she calls them ;) 

We then had the HIGHLIGHT of MY weekend... Pedi's with Erica!!

and Miss B got a surprise manicure :) 

Back when Husband and Minnie started making plans for their weekend away I asked Miss B what she might like to do... she said 1) eat at Wendy's and 2) see Kaydee.... She was SO excited.... and it was SOOO COLD!!!!

She was worried that Kaydee wouldn't remember her but it didn't take long at ALL....

AND KAYDEE knew JUST who she was....

Miss B loves her some puppy kisses!!! Between the licks and the cold that mask was NASTY WET after the visit.... 

We got home and took this big man for a walk....

You all know I DO NOT DO CHICKENS... 'cept I had to... but... on the "bright side" (pun totally intended) I made this cool ice sculpture when I dumped out their water and Miss B and I put a tea light it in ;) so pretty....

 

and the privilege of being the only one home with Momma.....sleeping on Daddy's side of the bed... I use "Daddy's side of the bed" loosely...😜
