Jessie

This spring we talked about as a family the thought of fostering dogs. Our hearts are still broken but we miss having a dog so much that we chatted about options for our family. Some friends of ours have been fostering through this organization that is in the town where I work for several months now and it has been a good fit for their family. We went through the extensive application process to become fosters and on 6/26 our first foster arrived.....

I WISH I had snapped the picture of her face just 2 seconds before because that van you see there had the door completely open and it was FREIGHTED with crates of dogs and puppies... oh the PUPPIES.

and out came Jessie... our first match... she came off the truck with several of her litter mates (though they had not been together in some time) and she was ready to meet and love EVERYONE. She was soooo sweet!

Ready for anything!!

These two were not sure what to expect I don't think but they were so SO excited!

She settled right in and was really just the sweetest girl! She came from a foster family that the Mississippi shelter that our shelter works with, that had a 4 year old and 8 year old. You could absolutely tell that she LOVES kids and that she had been well-loved and time definitely spent with her...

People were her favorite. She loved EVERYONE and everything we exposed her to.

and in true puppy form.... I love this :) sleep anywhere exhaustion....

On Monday, July 5th we received an email that Jessie had been adopted! We connected with her new owner and she came over to pick her up. We ALL cried but she is going to a home with another dog (who was also from Mississippi) and she gets to go to work with her owner and snuggle for life.

Minnie requested that we "take a minute" before we do it again but we are waiting for our next placement and really hoping that it goes just as well as this one did.
