Veterans Celebration

Last week our school held it's annual Veterans Day Celebration... I was in charge of flowers and realized I did not have vases big enough for the bouquets... whoopsie... Insert Sky and Josie (no pic) but they ran some right over to my school for me so I could get busy....

Our 5th graders always have the opportunity to serve the amazing breakfast that is done by our nutrition department...

YUM!

and we had a WONDERFUL turnout...

LOVE the bunting addition this year...

Proud kiddos!

BOTH parents are Veterans!

"Besty" did over and above with the gift bags...

they included coffee, a gift card, a framed picture of the entire school (minus the secretary and the naughty child I was watching) and these BEAUTIFUL cookies made by my friend Maggie.

Our NJROTC came to present the colors and it was (from what I heard ~ again with the babysitting) an amazing assembly.

We had a "Red, White and Blue" spirit day and when one of my teachers showed up wearing NOTHING of those colors and was asked about it... she said "I wasn't feeling very Patriotic".... um... what? TOO BAD... this day is set apart to celebrate the FREEDOM that you HAVE to be ABLE to "feel" whatever you want... I am SO grateful....
