Surprise, Free, Empty

On Tuesday while the girls were napping I was checking out the evil-ness that is FB :) but I saw that our local movie theater was giving away FREE tickets to ANY movie THAT DAY if you mentioned their "status" and liked it. FREE MOVIES! YES PLEASE!

I saw that Frozen was playing RIGHT after naptime and I quickly called Husband to see what he thought....we decided that Miss B probably wouldn't make the whole thing so even though it was FREE it would be best to just take "the big one" (as Minnie is fondly referred to around here ;) I quickly packed two Oreos and her water bottle in my pocket book and we headed out for a "surprise"

Can't beat the ticket price...

or the fact that....the theater was EMPTY. WE HAD A WHOLE MOVIE THEATER FOR FREE ALL TO OURSELVES!!! :)

one other lady ended up coming in right before the show started but that was IT!!!

happy HAPPY happy girls!

What a GREAT two hours spent with my girl!!! Little gifts... little gifts...

Happy

I asked a friend the other day if she was looking forward to spring... she has some exciting things coming up, work she is doing would be complete and let's all not forget that spring IS COMING (as I type this in the middle of a snow storm dumping a foot of snow on us :)
and while she did respond with a tentative "yes..." there was more that we worked through that has just stuck with me...

we chatted about working through James, and how it is about finding the JOY in each trial... because they are just going to keep coming. We have to choose the happy no matter what because there will always be SOMETHING we don't like, something that makes us uncomfortable or just generally a hard time...this world is not meant for us to be at peace with, at home in, comfortable (though that is how I prefer things... I'm not one for uncomfortable ;) there was ALWAYS be a trial of some sort...
but it is kinda back to 1000 Gifts... there are things throughout the day that you can see God's love for you.. sometimes little things sometimes really BIG things....our conversation resonated with me and has for the past week or so...

do I choose JOY? Sometimes. Should I all the time? Absolutely. I mean seriously...

The above pictures were all taken sitting at breakfast, drinking coffee that Husband made for me, at my kitchen table in our cozy home. There is MUCH to be JOYFUL about in that sentence alone...

The Weekend Report

mostly just pics of the girls and food... pretty much all I love right now, well except of course HUSBAND :)

On Saturday the four of us headed OFF... we haven't done that in FOREVER it seems like and we had a BLAST. Doing some errands and then just going where the wind blew... no pics but the local Labrador rescue organization was at Pet Quarters with PUPPIES and we surprised the gals... they LOVED it. WISH I had pics but I was too busy petting and getting my face licked too :) Final destination, the MALL. Which we NEVER go to anymore but look how much fun it was for them :)

Miss B was NONE too impressed with getting ON a horse...

but Daddy is a strong encourager and she LOVED it (of course)

Sunday was the Super Bowl and clearly we didn't care WHO was playing, we still support OUR team. Yes these were their church outfits. :)
God has a sense of humor and I bet He even likes sports :)

Pah-ty time started early and thank GOODNESS because there was much food to be had :)

and that wasn't even the TREAT table with all kinds of the SIL's and Mama H's baked goods or the nachos and chicken tenders that didn't go in the oven until after 7PM... whew... salad detox anyone? :) GREAT GREAT weekend!

A Blog Post for Sugar

Who cares that they are two sizes too big...??? Not Miss B!
She loves them and won't take them off :)

She may be her mother's daughter after all... the love for Danskos (or pseudo-Danskos in this case) starts early... uh-oh.

One so they remember their parents WERE fun...

Friday afternoon when Husband got home we bundled up the little ladies and headed out for some sledding fun!
This one was PSYCHED to get outside... it has only taken her 3 months to get all geeked up over winter :) She *MIGHT* be a summer baby :)

I *might* be her summer Mama :)

But it was all fun and games once we got the "Jet Sled" out and threw in another baby redneck...

What is not fun about hurling down a hill towards rocks (to your left) and trees right in front of you?

workin' for the ride...

Seriously. The rules for sledding at the mouse house are... "no one dies and no one becomes a vegetable... and... there is an adult at the bottom at ALL TIMES!"

When the rules are followed... EVERYONE has fun! :)
