Deck Project

The "I just want a cement pad poured under the deck" project continues.... 90 degree heat and OBNOXIOUS humidity doesn't stop MY HUSBAND! :)

We needed to move the posts back and we had to have a beam to hold it all together... so Husband BUILT a beam....

That then weighed about 500lbs and needed to get lifted and attached... thankful BIL L showed up to check on progress ;) we sucked him right in....

and then he called in reinforcements from down the road with a bigger tractor... phew! Thankful for Ray-Ray too!

All set up and ready....

On Monday Ray-Ray came back and placed one of the cement towers you see here in the hole that Husband HAND-DUG that was over FOUR FEET DEEP!

and on Tuesday it was GAME ON... CountryDad showed up with his tractor and on the hottest day of the summer so far (I think)...

They got the other holes dug, the posts moved and the old cement out of the ground...

and even got this girl to dump the old cement ;) She LOVES driving the tractor!

"always look in the direction in which you are heading"

and since the tractor was already HERE... why NOT make the fire pit area a bit bigger? :)

So thankful for ALL the work that Husband has done to get our deck secure and ready for the pad to be poured and ESPECIALLY for rallying the troops he needed to help with the heavy lifting and digging :) I'm SO excited for the finished product! Stay tuned....

Lil' Walker's Wedding

You might remember this post back here.... Well on Saturday it was little sister's turn to walk down the aisle. We were not sure how the festivities were going to go due to all that is going on in our world right now but I am so happy we went and SO HAPPY that Stephanie and Pete went through with their vows... it was a beautiful day!

Tough to get a camera angle with the timer ;) but for 80+ degrees and 100% humidity I think we cleaned up OK ;)

I even hauled out my sparkle Dex patch for the occasion ;)

The wedding was at the Walker's beautiful home on the lake... socially distanced chairs....

a STUNNING mother of the bride with her Daddy walking her down the aisle ;)

and masks at a wedding....

Even so, the smile would NOT be kept off this girl's face... she was beaming from the inside out and so happy to walking towards her best friend and future...

She wore her Momma's dress....

and it was a BEAUTIFUL ceremony...

Getting loved on by other leading men in her life ;) her nephew...

All of the little details were so sweet...this is the "shed"-teau where the gals got ready

So pretty...

A quick non-social distant moment...

Just to remember... what a socially distant wedding looks like....

and just because this will probably be the last opportunity for a picture with Richard at a wedding... another quick photo-op to recreate the one from Jenn's wedding...

Remember back here? :)

Husband and I had SO much fun... and so did the gals... Special thanks to TiTi & Uncle Leon for keeping the girls OVERNIGHT... been a long time since they have gone for an overnight and we all greatly enjoyed our time... but I was definitely ready to get these gals back at church :)

Randoms

Bouquet du jour (or whatever the word "week" is in French)

Miss B has some recipes in a new workbook I got for her...

They did the whole thing by themselves....

Minnie was so proud....

But in the end they both ate the ice cream off the top and ditched the microwave cake ;)

Husband started digging hole.... I guess if we are missing Miss B this should be the first place I check....

BRING ON THE CEMENT PAD!!!
