HOT Summer Track Days

To say that our track meets have been HOT would be an UNDERSTATEMENT... SCORCHING... feeling like we are standing on the sun... not an exaggeration.... but look at these kids showing up... so proud of them...

Dang high jump... always the bitter end but Minnie jumping in (pun totally intended) to help out. She only has 2 seasons left until she'll be helping out like this for the whole thing.... why is it going so fast!? :(

Sights of Summer

Wednesday work days....

Meant barn/lake days for the gals....

Finally squeezed in a sleepover with the Allaire sisters...and this freaked me RIGHT out... this will be all too soon for me....

and we FINALLY made it over for an evening fish... the weather has not been condusive to hanging out OUTSIDE but this night was COOLER and beautiful!

and catching fish is always our favorite...

even if they are the size of the bait this one uses in the winter... hahaha

On Monday night we went to track practice as normal... but I did not feed the boy at practice so he ate dinner a little later than normal....he woke up at 2:45AM crying to go out and immediately pooped once Husband got him outside. He was up again around 4:50ish but I shushed him knowing he didn't need to potty but by 5:10 he was gagging and trying to puke... looked mostly like salvia but definitely had us up and out of bed... Husband took him outside and he pooped again... and kept trying to poop... he ate breakfast as excitedly as normal and wanted to go back outside... at this point we knew something was wrong... his poop had changed to diarrhea and after a few of those just water with blood....

To say that I FREAKED would be an understatement... my mind ALWAYS goes to worst case scenario but can't you blame me? (Colon cancer, spider bites, leg injuries, broken arms... I mean come on) I was CONVINCED my sweet boy had swallowed a stick, it had pierced his intestine and they were going to have to cut him open stem to stern. 

Turns out it was just a little tummy bug from either smelling or tasting something yucky with spores that messed up his belly. A good visit since it was a new vet to us and we also had questions about how much he was eating... .bumping that up too to get some meat on him...

He has def. turned the corner but I was FREAKING out I love this little guy so much! Really hoping this one isn't prone to upset bellies but also REALLY happy for my new click together bedroom FLOOR! :) 

Florida Friends

It's been a LONG LONG time since we have seen this ENTIRE crew all together... but Michelle texted me on Sunday and said they were on their way and then texted again on Monday asking if we could see them on Tuesday AM. YES PLEASE!!! 

When this kid came out of the house... I thought MY girl was tall... wait for the group shot and he's all the way on the left... he's 13 and wears a size 17 shoe and I think between that and his love for Jesus it's a solid foundation for him. :)

 

It has been a long time since these two have hung out...and after a few awkward teenager moments all SEVEN kids were running around playing soccer....

We only had about an hour with them because of a blog post to come later (argh) but we were so thankful for the quick time to catch up and it was so encouraging to hear how they are doing and to just BE with them... and so fun for our kids who really don't remember each other but jumped right in because of the parents bond :)

Love them!

Barkley the Baby

Poor guy... EVERYTHING is new and scary....good thing for Minnie to protect him from the big MEAN vacuum cleaner... :)

She got down on the floor to just let him know she was there (he was originally under the table) but he immediately scooted and forced his way tucked in behind her back...

any tight spot will do....

I mean... can ANYONE blame him for being nervous around Discus? WE are all nervous around Discus. They have come a VERY long way though... she is now venturing back downstairs after pretty much living on the balcony for 3 weeks... he respects her space and I think she told him she's the boss of the house and he said "Yes Mame" after he saluted her.

But they are doing really well and I think it won't be long until everyone has it figure out. Right after these pics were taken they were nose to nose.
