It was a LOT...you should probably grab a coffee...
On Tuesday it was the highly anticipated next town over rivalry bball game! When I sent my morning email to my staff I invited them all to come and watch T v. C... this girl right here is new to our school as a 2nd grade teacher. She comes with YEARS of experience, runs a SUPER tight ship in her classroom, makes everything fun for her kids and genuinely was meant to teach tiny people. Bonus... she's been SO fun to get to know, we have tons in common and just a good time! The fact that her daughter was on the other team... minor infraction :) This was the ONLY pic I took but there was a celebrity sighting with Aunt Nancy, all the grandparents and TiTi. The game was rough but the worst part was the other coach... our "friend" after being up more than 25 points... full court pressing and put her starting 5 back in with 1 minute to go to just put three's in to run the score. Post-game it shouldn't have come as a surprise that her players posted nastiness on "snaptwitagram". Sportsmanship starts at the top with the coach. Disappointing that it can't just be a clean rivalry with a "good game" at the end. Thankful that between MY GIRL and this girl's GIRL... it was.
On Wednesday AM Husband was woken up by what he thought was a gunshot or an explosion of some sort a few minutes before his alarm at 4:45. By the time he brought the coffee all we could see through the woods from our bedroom window was red and blue flashing lights. Heather sent a group text to our neighbors saying "the junkyard is on fire". SO SCARY. My pics are terrible... but you can sort of see the smoke...this was Miss B and I leaving our private road...
The white stick looking thing is the ladder truck up and over the garage
and the view from the end of my driveway... orange cones blocking the end of the main road.

Thank GOODNESS the house is still standing. The family of six that lives here have tiny people that go to Miss B's school and when the original pics came out we thought the whole home was gone. We had heard early on that everyone was safe THANK GOODNESS but we were worried about their home. To see it still standing was amazing. Even better was that when the gals and I came home on Wednesday night they were IN their home watching TV.

Because of the major road being closed, 7 towns responding to the fire, the elementary school being used as a command center in addition to the hydrant there and buses not able to get through this girl had a 2 hour delay. Marisa said she could just zip up with me and I was planning on bringing her to school but our 504 coordinator was headed in that direction so she just brought her along... worked slick :)
Back to back bball nights... we were back in our gym and this girl working hard
They worked until the bitter end...
and we came up down by 8....
but this girl... man... she works and works out on that court... never giving up... running her legs off and trying until that buzzer rings. She makes me so proud....
She was devastated as she usually is with the loss but she hustled from the locker room... for one last snuggle....
7 SHORT WEEKS AGO!!!
They are leaving for their forever homes this weekend so we took the SUPER quick opportunity to snuggle them up one last time...
The one that is blurry would not stop crying until I picked him up...
I mean....
I mean SERIOUSLY...
This was the last litter for sweet Layla girl... SO thankful we were
there for them
ALL. It is not lost on me HOW BLESSED we are to have access to BERNESE MOUNTAIN DOG PUPPIES.
SUPER excited to see what our breeder and friend does next...
Because this litter turned out FAIRLY AMAZING :)
