The Weekend Report

While he looks sweet and innocent... don't let him fool yah... he had Grace caught by the wing mere MOMENTS before...gggrrrr...

On Saturday we had yet again MORE snow... I am OVER IT... I knew I was staying home for the day and Husband had started the wood stove so I came down in these shoes and Miss B said "uh... Mom.... your shoes???".... yes babe... I don't see the problem... ;)

Gals asked if the Penney's could come for a little visit... they came after lunch and stayed through dinner... if this picture had sounds you would hear them singing "Man... I Feel Like a Woman" hahahahaha

She is really happy to be snuggling with him but she's been SO CAMERA shy lately...

On Sunday we made the trek to see MIL... I really hate all things maple but gals love going up there and we love seeing MIL.... bonus... Sky surprised everyone by meeting us there with her two besties... 

Mimi was HAPPY!!!

Miss B's BAND Concert

 A little back story... Miss B made a VERY last minute decision to play the saxophone this year. We went rounds about it because 1) she missed the deadline 2) she quit playing piano 3) it's SUPER expensive to rent them but why BUY one if she isn't going to stick with.... but... the band teacher "found" one she could use for free... agreed to extend the deadline and here we are... if you DON'T do band in 5th grade... you cannot pick it up in middle school...sooooo OK FINE. She's been GREAT about it... very responsible with remembering her instrument on Tuesdays... practicing SOMETIMES... getting help from Mayson (who also plays the sax) when she was stuck on something earlier in the year... just very RESPONSIBLE with her instrument.

On Thursday night they had their first (in over 3 years?) ALL DISTRICT band concert. The place was PACKED... So every 5th grader, the entire middle school and the high school band was ALL THERE... factor in immediate families, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins..... it was a LOT! I was SOOOO nervous about parking, where we were going to sit and making sure that our crew all was with us... thank GOODNESS this is Husband's gym :) and we left oh... an hour and 1/2 early to drive 17 min. so that we could park... yep. I am CRAZY. BUT... we had GREAT seats thanks to Husband getting us VIP seating :)

And to say this kid was EXCITED would be an understatement... when I asked her how she was feeling she said SO EXCITED and nervous

It was MORE than a PACKED house! All of the bleachers looked like this! 

Bode told me at school he was NOT sitting with Minnie and he wanted to sit between Husband and I... I would pull the moon out of the sky if he wanted it...I love this kid! :)

I was AMAZED to see EVERY.SINGLE. administrator from EVERY.SINGLE. building in our district there... bus drivers... teachers... (my 5th grade teacher from my school brought her finance... pretty sure the 20 somethings could have found something ELSE to do on a Thursday night but the kids LOVED having her there). The Superintendent made mention of how he'd never been to an event with that many staff and I'm glad he did. It was a HUGE deal to the kiddos to have their community with them!

We were SO SO proud of our girl! I am happy she had this experience and even though I was stressed to the max... she had a GREAT TIME :) HAHAHA.... ask her if she's doing band in middle school though...she says she's not sure... hee hee hee I guess we'll see...

School Dayz

New set-up at work... no more laptop but they let me keep it so that's good and I also got BOTH monitors so um... helllllooooo Sky's 1:00 games... yes please! BAHAHAHA

Speaking of Sky... on Tuesday SIL L sprung the gals from school early so they could go BACK to SNHU 

They had a GORGEOUS evening and SNHU WON!!! HOORAY!!! 

Meanwhile this is what I was doing at work... 

A pug, beagle, dachshund mix named TUCKER ;)   

NOT a bad way to spend outside for a few minutes at the end of the day :)

Husband and I were able to run a few errands and make it back home for dinner so we called it a date night :) 

The Weekend Report

Kicked off Friday at school with SUPER HERO DAY!!!! My favorite co-workers (and boss) all decked out in Husband's t-shirts! BAHAHAHAHA Yes the man has enough super heros to outfit Shaps! We did realize he needs Captain America and Spiderman though... hrrrm....

On Saturday we made sort of a last minute decision to head to Sky's game. The weather was projected to be BEAUTIFUL but we woke up to clouds and NO SUN... BOO HISS... We packed it all up anyway though and decided to do some outlet shopping about 20 min. from her stadium before the game... by the time we were leaving THIS is what the sky looked like and we could NOT have been HAPPIER!!!! SUNSHINE IN MARCH! YES PLEASE!

Unfortunately it was a loss but I appreciate this girl smiling through... and just a quick point out of Miss B's shirt. I mean come on. (She needed a purple shirt for a spirit day at school and when we saw this one we KNEW we had to do it!) 

Such a FUN family day and we do LOVE a good road trip... riding home with the sunroof open was AWESOME!!!

 

Ten Years Ago (Friday Flashback)

Unified and Snow Days.... again....

And just for giggles... when you start dressing EXACTLY alike you know you have found your groove with your co-worker :) We only have 1 grade level that has two classes and these two 2nd grade teachers are the BEST!!! 

 

On Monday Husband had to do the clock at the Unified game so he raced to snag Miss B at school and the pooch at home and I grabbed Harp from my school and we all went to support! I LOVE Unified games!! LOVE THEM!

It was a close one and Husband stopped the clock in hopes that there would be a last minute basket but alas we missed... bummer :) 

On Monday night the call was made for no school and in fact the whole DISTRICT was closed so even SIL L didn't have to work and she ALWAYS has to work... it was a relaxing day of puttering around and spending time in the kitchen :) always my fav! Husband and I talked over the weekend and decided we'd do our "boiled" dinner on what we expected would be the snow day... 

I did it most of the day in the crockpot on high but felt like I needed to finish it in the Le Creuset and I'm SO glad I did.... 

Minnie loves cabbage but neither of the gals dig a boiled dinner so they just had meat... and I cook the cabbage separately for Minnie's sake :)

Marisa LOVES boiled dinner and typically gets it at a local restaurant but I packed her up the leftovers for her to enjoy when her family had a pizza night :)

and a fun new recipe :) S'more's bars!!!

Finished the night with Husband getting the truck stuck ;)

But finally calling for reinforcements! :) Whew... just when we THOUGHT we were done...
