Saturday: Part 3 Daddy/Daughter Valentine's Dinner/Dance

There was an invitation floating around FB (the more the merrier type invitation) for a Daddy/Daughter V-day extravaganza ;) Husband was supposed to be gone this weekend for this annual ice fishing trip but they have post-poned it to the end of this month...I asked if he was interested in taking his little ladies and he was ALL about it. :) I so love that about him :)

It was a beautiful set-up and entrance....

Craft room...

such cute table set-up....

princess punch...

and awesome "kid-catered" food...

This guy's sweet wife had the vision and organizational skills to pull this event off...and then... her baby boy had an allergic reaction, she spent the entire day in the ER and missed the event being... a MOM....her friends picked up the slack, ran with the vision and it was AH-MAY-ZING.

After dinner there was some dancing...

but I laughed at the fact that my crew would rather competitively smack balloons around the room than dance....

Her Daddy asked her, she fought it tooth and nail and then she finally caved :)

this gal does LOVE to dance and when asked on the way home said it was her favorite part of the night... she loved it more than winning the raffle!!! (Where they called her name and she immediately burst into tears ;)

I was so happy to be a part of the "help" so that I didn't miss the photo ops and the sweet moments here and there... my gals had a blast and I had so much fun watching them be dote on by their amazing Daddy. Loved it.

Pic "stolen" from Josh ~ 8lbs 14oz 22" long
I walked in to see the new blessing and LOST it seeing this family all snuggled up together. How have I known this girl for so long and now she is a MAMA... What in the WORLD will I do when I have grandbabies... Lord, help my girls.

I have not been THIS happy in a LONG time ;)

Sweet girl... you are already SO loved, adored, and prayed for. You just WAIT for the amazing-ness that is YOUR family and soak it up sis-tah... soak it up...

Saturday: Part 1

My sweet Hospitality girls went along with my selfish desires to celebrate love, weddings and dig through everyone's photo albums. It was SO MUCH FUN! :) We hosted a brunch and allowed Mama's to decide about bringing their daughters and these four just had the BEST TIME. I love how different they all are and yet how much they enjoy each other's company :)
I asked the little/unmarried gals each a question when they came in... none of them heard each other's answers and I LOVED what they told me...
"What part of your OWN wedding are you looking forward to the most?"
Lana Age 6: wearing the dress
Lizzie Age 11: cake in the face :)
Kendra Age 5: wearing the dress
Phoebe Age 6: the cake
Bri Age 16: "both my uncle AND my Dad walking me down the isle"
Minnie Age 6: (ah... my girl) THE PARTY!

On the days when my girl ONLY wants to wear skinny jeans and t-shirts and NOTHING else, it drives me crazy... on a day when I say "are you sure you don't want to fancy up.. all your friends are wearing party dresses" and she says... "nope! I want to wear my long skirt!" I love it. I love that she knows what makes HER feel pretty and she doesn't care what anyone else is doing :)

Beautiful generational pic... Liz with her Mama and sweet Pheebs with her Mama and Memere!

speakin' of generations :) Minnie is just SO blessed to have such GODLY women and wives as her Grandmothers to look up to. So blessed.

A wall of wedding....

Silly and fun! :)

the girl on the left is 16... she is wearing the dress of a lady in our church who has been married for 66!!!! years... she told us all of her love story, how she and her beau met and what a blessing and treat it was for ME ;) I loved every minute of it...

January 22, 1949 when the dress was first worn....

Such amazing examples of marriage in my close circle at church... and in my life. I LOVE love.

A girl and her dog...

She loves him so much...

she'll even wipe his eye boogies for him without anyone asking her too...

The Girls ~ A BETTER update

I stinkin' LOVE six. I love it! My sassy, spicy, introspective girl is still very much herself but school, Sunday school, Jr. Church and play dates with friends are just turning her into such a "big girl".

Yesterday I had to take her to the Dr for some pain she was having in her ear... sure enough ear infection... but we had about 2 hours one on one together, in the car, the doc office and waiting for her Rx and we just had the BEST time. We finished out our stinky-it-had-to-be-for-the-doc-but-making-the most-of-it-date belting out our favorite song together "He Knows My Name" by Francesca Battestelli. There is just nothing that fills my heart than hearing this girl sing truths like "I'm already so adored..." and "He calls me chosen, free forgiven, wanted, child of the King, His forever, held in treasure...I am loved"

I have been enjoying watching her in her classroom, seeing her start to read and watch the math just click with her (PRAISE THE LORD OH MY SOUL!) We have had multiple conversations lately about kindness and then... I got an email from her Sunday school teacher that made this Mama so proud and happy... it's settling...it's sinking... she's getting it and I'm thrilled....

"Minnie was very intentional about praising and encouraging B as often as possible. She has a wonderful gift of encouragement! Blessed my heart. :)"

And three.... oh three...
just so much three in this girl....

and yet her favorite things to do are help... ask you "know what??" ....she always answers "I love  you"

She prefers to be called "Babe" and thinks her Daddy hung the moon. She's quick to meltdown when things don't go her way and quick to snuggle after being punished for hitting or smacking her sister, the dog, me....

She still takes awesome 2.5 hour naps every afternoon and would prefer to do worksheets aka "school" than play unless it is "real" paw patrol which is her obsession. I look forward to 3:10PM when Minnie gets home and I can go back to my real name vs. my pretend names like Anna, Ryder, Everest....
I know how fast it goes now and I'm just trying to hold on and soak it all up...
