I stinkin' LOVE six. I love it! My sassy, spicy, introspective girl is still very much herself but school, Sunday school, Jr. Church and play dates with friends are just turning her into such a "big girl".
Yesterday I had to take her to the Dr for some pain she was having in her ear... sure enough ear infection... but we had about 2 hours one on one together, in the car, the doc office and waiting for her Rx and we just had the BEST time. We finished out our stinky-it-had-to-be-for-the-doc-but-making-the most-of-it-date belting out our favorite song together "He Knows My Name" by Francesca Battestelli. There is just nothing that fills my heart than hearing this girl sing truths like "I'm already so adored..." and "He calls me chosen, free forgiven, wanted, child of the King, His forever, held in treasure...I am loved"
I have been enjoying watching her in her classroom, seeing her start to read and watch the math just click with her (PRAISE THE LORD OH MY SOUL!) We have had multiple conversations lately about kindness and then... I got an email from her Sunday school teacher that made this Mama so proud and happy... it's settling...it's sinking... she's getting it and I'm thrilled....
"Minnie was very intentional about praising and encouraging B as often as possible. She has a wonderful gift of encouragement! Blessed my heart. :)"
And three.... oh three...
just so much three in this girl....
and yet her favorite things to do are help... ask you "know what??" ....she always answers "I love you"
She prefers to be called "Babe" and thinks her Daddy hung the moon. She's quick to meltdown when things don't go her way and quick to snuggle after being punished for hitting or smacking her sister, the dog, me....
She still takes awesome 2.5 hour naps every afternoon and would prefer to do worksheets aka "school" than play unless it is "real" paw patrol which is her obsession. I look forward to 3:10PM when Minnie gets home and I can go back to my real name vs. my pretend names like Anna, Ryder, Everest....
I know how fast it goes now and I'm just trying to hold on and soak it all up...
