Oh Miss B...

I feel like I could start the same way.... what started out as sunny skies and the promise of a sleepover...Miss B and her friend tried for a "do-over"... MC got back on the horse (just walking) and they gave Scotch a bath and hung out with their buddy.....

Minnie and I watched our favorite #5 with her friend Addison and the plan was to take all three gals home to our house for a sleepover and tacos!

and then my phone rang at almost the EXACT same time as it did the Friday night before...only this time it was the trampoline and most definitely broken... I left the teenage girls with Marisa (thank GOODNESS she was there) and met the mom at Lakeside...

She "donkey kicked" on the trampoline and it bounced back and snapped both the bones in her forearm. She was in a LOT of pain... but such a trooper...
The RN who was in admissions remembered Miss B from the weekend before... she was running all kinds of interference behind the scenes to get us seen as quickly as possible. They were swamped this week (last week not so bad) and they all LOVED Miss B (obvi). They wanted her to be with a Dr who was scheduled to leave at 8 so they moved things VERY quickly... the PA wanted to try to do a reduction (set it) in the ER and then get her splinted until she could see ortho. IV was placed, oxygen, heart monitor stickers all over her and the loopy meds were started....

This was the only part I "saw"... otherwise my face was buried in the corner and I was muckled onto Husband's hand... SEVEN... SEVEN people in this room for my girl... Dr., PA, Ed Tech, RN, Respiratory Therapist and TWO Xray techs. I was OVERWHELMED!

They did the "Chinese Finger Traps" that her fingers kept slipping out of, to try and manipulate it as much as they were able with the meds she had on board and then having to give her a little more... it was a tricky balance...

This is where we ended up... which looks pretty good....

Until you see THIS...and you can def. tell she will need "surgery"

Say no to drugs man.

FINALLY headed home around 9:30... MIL's blanket and water bottle she let Miss B borrow was CLUTCH... It happened the week before so I knew to expect it but Miss B gets a serious case of the SHAKES after the adrenaline wears off and her body feels pain. That blanket was WELL-LOVED and appreciated. Miss B is most def. a tough cookie with a HIGH pain tolerance but we are going to start wrapping her in bubble wrap and calling her a "fragile flower" :)

We got home to three teenage girls... thank goodness Marisa brought them to get snacks and home but they hadn't eaten ANYTHING... SO 'bout 10:00 Husband was making up breakfast sandwiches while I got Miss B settled and ready for bed... Chill morning on Saturday and we stayed on top of Miss B's meds every 3 hours to try and keep her comfortable...

She already had plans to go to the movies with her buddy on Saturday night and REALLY wanted to go but Husband I REALLY didn't want to send her "nice incase". So I got to go to the movies with she, Ally, Bridgette and Ethan! :) Lucky me! hee hee
Sunday AM we did the whole process of washing her hair which is A LOT when you can't get anything wet, you are uncomfortable and not little anymore... S &S headed for SS and she and I headed to church once we were done and braids were in. We came home to just chill after church... and Guinny showed up!!! Mrs. Guinny and Guinny brought her the BEST care package EVER for Miss B... she does love her some Guinny :)
Once Minnie took over the TV with her Blue Bloods Miss B ended up with me....

and Disc-ee

She is NOT a cat that EVER snuggles but she def does not dig crying or people in pain...

and I think she could tell....
Rough night sleep for Miss B on Sunday night... but met with ortho on Monday AM and surgery scheduled for Tuesday. Stay tuned.
