Last Day of School

 Where we STARTED...

AND how we finished....Wednesday morning with puffy 6:30 AM faces....

So I made them have a do-over after school....but...that didn't go so well because this one had been emotional for hours... leaving her comfort zone and headed to the high school is a LOT... She's gonna be GREAT but I get it... it's A LOT...

8th Grade Promotion Dance

I cried this day.... I didn't WANT it to be time for school yet... it happened too fast... 

and now we are here... closing out middle school and she's headed for "the big house". On Tuesday night Minnie went to the celebratory 8th grade dance...

I love these two more than words or blog posts could EVER express...

All 5'9" of 'em

The past three years ESPECIALLY went super fast... hard to believe this was 5th grade celebration

and look how much HE grew :) He didn't want to take a picture with Minnie but I said "you would NOT HAVE MADE IT THROUGH Kindergarten bus rides without her! You wouldn't BE here! 

Now SMILE :)"

I thought the outfit choices were "interesting"....

But I LOVED what Minnie picked to wear and I thought she looked AMAZING!

Little sister crew... these two will be together next year and they are PSYCHED about that!

 

She had a GREAT time and although it was tricky FINDING her something to wear, I'm glad she picked what she did and WENT and had so much fun!

The Ice Cream Post (Last Day of School)

As you all know, when Minnie was 9 months old I started having "the kids" in the summer... we started a tradition of getting ice cream on the last day of school and the last day of summer... it's gets a little challenging sometimes to coordinate schedules but I am SO SO thankful for these two making my dreams of tradition come true :) 

I wanted to have a post with most of the ice cream pics in one place... took some time but it was fun time :)

2014, Last day of SCHOOL.... FIRST DAY OF SUMMER...

Last day of summer vacation... and in this post I said "I have no idea what I'm going to do without this girl.." and in the past few weeks she has bailed me/us out MORE TIMES than I can count since she has been HOME!

August 2022 Welcome BARKS!!!

And just 10 short months ago.... 

Now the big girl is HOME FOREVER!!!! MY big girl is HEADED FOR HIGH SCHOOL.... AND Miss B will be middle class man at Husband's school.... 

and this guy is going to be someone's HUSBAND!!!! (I mean, it's Josie but still... a HUSBAND!)

OH I DO LOVE this tradition and I thought we should really have a full post with the "ice cream" pictures!

The Weekend Report

End of the school year be like...

especially when you have an older sister who was doing all the graduation week stuff and you got dragged around.... 6:45 on a Friday night with a movie and this poor girl couldn't hang...

Husband making sure she was cozy enough... she napped about an hour and then they went to bed at 10 and she slept a full 12 hours only waking when I peeked in... poor thing was EXHAUSTED and I FEEL IT!

Saturday AM woke up to this on the roof of the chicken coop... Husband took care of the "situation" that had killed TWO chickens in two nights :( 

then in the afternoon we were invited to celebrate Ho-Hahn with ice cream cake... Love when these four are together! Peep CountryMum?

Sunday was drizzly and the perfect day to just chill after church gearing up for the chaos that is... the last 2.5 days of school!!!!
