Away For the Weekend

A few weeks ago Husband and I talked about traveling "north" after the Track season and before his fishing trip with the guys. We checked in with C.T. and he was all for it... The CountryRents hate to miss a good time so they loaded up and came along! :) Always more fun with da'boats!

I read on another girl's blog recently that a trip with kids isn't a "vacation" it's a RE-location! So true!!! We were LOADED down.

But super excited to be outta dodge for the weekend!

C.T. lives within a block of the ocean...(this isn't within walking distance of his house but when you live on the coast the ocean is NEVER far away)

We headed to a local state park to enjoy the lake water, get the boats wet and let Minnie have some fun! It started out pretty warm and nice but the weather QUICKLY changed to windy, cold and cloudy.

Good thing she doesn't care :)

Minnie took her first trip IN THE WATER in the boat :) Right along the edge in about 5 inches of water with Nana and Papa right there :)

Water.Daddy.Nana and Papa watching me... yeah. She's a fan. :)

Another good sport :)

Kinda makes me giggle. Dueling kayaks anyone?

The loves of my life.

She absolutely LOVED losing her balance and "falling" in the water. She went under about 4-5 times and never came up coughing. Is she learning to hold her breath? I sure hope so! :)

The sign of a good summer day in Northern New England :)

I took the opportunity of wild flowers and perennials to "girly-ize" C.T. bachelor pad :)

Eat. It's what we do. :) Small trouble with the potato salad and somehow it was frozen... but there was enough grub to make up for that loss...

No one went away hungry. And if they did it was their own fault :)

A special LOVE YOU shout out to C.T. who was very accomodationg to the Mouse House "relocation". Especially with a girl who cried quiet a bit because she was so tired and did NOT understand sleeping in a new/different place and waking up with her parents right next to her. Camping should be fun. Yikes.

Freighted down with bachaelor buttons from C.T.'s garden to bring home to my very own...

and a couple of tired TIRED....
girls! :)

a GREAT weekend! :)
