The Weekend Report

On Friday night we got CJ!!!!! Hip hip HOORAY! We fed him Mexican, snuggled him on the couch and we all headed to bed early because he was HEADED OUT FOR YOUTH DAY!!!
The boys were up around 5:30 and headed for the woods around 6:35... I came down to snag some coffee around 7:25 and a few sips in heard the unmistakable sound of a gun going off in my yard... :) Sure enough... about 40 min into the hunt it was his FIRST DOE DOWN! Once they did all the gross and yucky things you need to do with a down deer they hauled us gals out to give us the play by play...

He had a GREAT shot, was SPOT on and was riding a high for sure! So was Uncle Scott! He was so so proud of him!!!

92lbs once it was all said and done and he had the meat all ready to be picked up from the butcher by Sunday night! He was psyched!

After the crazy of the AM, cleaning it, taking it up the road where Grampa was to show him, getting it tagged... they came back and Minnie had thrown together her maple french toast breakfast casserole (the night before), I scrambled up some eggs and cooked up some bacon! We had a FEAST!

SO happy for him and proud of how he purses his interests. Love this kid!

Pretty sure this was just last week....😩

Once Husband and the gals got back from dropping off the deer at the butcher and CJ at home... Minnie ran to Biddo with me picking up YET ANOTHER package of nails... this pack required GLUE and took us no less than 1.5 hours....

a DREMEL....

POLISH....

and these were off by 9AM the next morning because "I can't do anything with them on! I couldn't even get my EARRINGS OUT!" Um... no kidding.
But it was a good choice for her because MY GIRL SCORED!!!! She took a PK AND SHE SCORED!!!
Minnie and I were at church so SOOOO THANKFUL for the Mom that caught it on video so that I could watch it after. ROCK STAR!!!

Finished off the weekend with board games, 2 ingredient pumpkin muffins, Minnie made lemon loaf and there was a boatload of football on the TV. I LOVE being home on Sunday afternoons!
A FANTASTIC FALL WEEKEND!
