Ah the park...MOSTLY a post for GA
C-Line: "My Mom's over there..."
"I can get you some wood chips..."
"muuuhaaahaaahaa...."
"if you can just stay DOWN here where I'm HOLDING YOU!"
"SERIOUSLY. Don't move."
Minnie: "Your Mom is kinda kookie...."
C-Line: "I know. It's the best I've got though... let me just keep eating these toys you brought. Tasty."
Minnie: "I KNEW I heard those keys somewhere!!!"
"Gimme THOSE!!"
C-line: "EH... whatever. I MUCH prefer hangin' with my Momma over those keys ANYDAY!!!"
"she captures EVERYTHING! Even sweet moments of sharing..."Play Date with the girls!!
doing the same things...
happy to be alive...
and their Mom's are still their favorite people...
Now here, I'd like to direct your attention to the Hamburger Helper box from the play kitchen...please click on the picture to enlarge...
please note that a CHUNK of it is missing off the bottom...more on this in a bit...
I think my favorite line from the day was Liz telling J.T. uh... watch out for Minnie... J.T.'s response... "it's ok... Dani's used to her" :) BAH! :)
my kid the bully...
Pheebs took her friends over to show them HER favorite new place to hang out...Dani doesn't have these at her house so it was all new...
but Pheebs made SHORT work of getting all the way to the top....
So we left play date... Minnie and I went to J.T.'s new pad to scope it out before she moves in... then we drove about 15 min. home and she was fighting sleep the whole way... when we got home she ate 6 oz of a bottle and I thought for SURE she will pass out with exhaustion... but I heard her not really settling down and I put her bink in a couple of times... finally she was quiet... almost 2 hours later she woke up... we went out to the deck to sit and chit chat and I noticed as she was facing me what I THOUGHT was a big grey boogie stuck between her two front teeth. Of course as any mother would do, I went rooting around in her mouth to pick it out which she of course as any 9 1/2 month old would do... wanted NO part of it... so I laid her down on her back on my legs and made her laugh and smile... I noticed when she opened her mouth nice and wide with a grin that there was something stuck on the roof of her mouth... I did the finger swoop and found... after about 3.5-4 hours above said CHUNK of the Hamburger Helper box. How she kept it up there without choking is beyond me. How she fell asleep and settled down... no idea. I did notice when I checked on her the bink was WAY in the bottom of her crib so obviously she wasn't able to suck on it poor thing... PHEW though on potential disaster avoided and funny story to tell instead... Tuesday, September 28, 2010
TEN WHOLE MONTHS!?!?!?!
What a BIG girl you are getting to be our little Minnie :) You and I have been having SO much fun these long fall days!! We have spent a ton of time at our local park and even ventured over to your friend's and cousin's park last week. (Seperate blog to follow) We are in a groove now of play dates every other week and Bible Study on the "other week" so you get to see your closest friends EVERY WEEK and you LOVE it! Better days for us are the ones in which we can get out of the house. You are working on at LEAST two more teeth and distraction is our friend...
This month you have MASTERED stair climbing and we have to keep an eye on you ALL the time. You have even figured out that when Daddy is coming for you to put a "wiggle" on it and try to get up just ONE more stair before he snags you... naughty naughty.
Your favorite thing to do is pull up and couch/table surf or reach for whomever's hand is the closest so you can walk. Independence makes you happy and I'm all about making you happy :) If that means encouraging you to walk... well... we'll chaulk it up to being a rookie Mom and encouraging you :)
We did have some "excitement" this month yet AGAIN with your food... Similac Recall
We had to switch you cold turkey to another kind of formula but once again you handled it like a champ and you just "rolled" with it... much like you have been doing from the time you popped out. I can only pray that this makes you tough and understanding.
Not much has changed in a typical day for you. It starts around 6AM but we leave you in your bed chatting to yourself and waking up happy while Daddy and I do devotions together while he gets ready for school. When we are done he goes in to get you up and play, and see him off to work. We walk/crawl over to the deck doors to wave good-bye to him and you LOVE it. After he leaves you have a few Cheerios and around 7 you are ready for breakfast. You eat just about any fruit except bananas. I keep trying them with you but you pretend to gag everytime. You have a bottle and then you are down and going... sometimes you jump in your excesaucer, sometimes you race around in your walker or just crawl around playing with your toys and trying to get into things you shouldn't. We are pretty sure you are trying to drop that early AM nap but that makes for a long time until your afternoon one... so sometime between 8:30-9ish you let us know you are ready for a nap and in the past month that nap was lasting about 1.5 hours. You are ready for another nap between 1-2ish after a lunch of a couple of veggies and another bottle. Sometimes you take another catnap later in the afternoon if we are out and about sometimes you like to stay awake for the entire afternoon. By 4PM it isn't going well for anyone :) A late afternoon snooze is good for you. You have dinner around 5-5:30 and that is more cereal, a couple more veggies/meats and another bottle that you like to linger with for about an hour. You are in bed for the night between 6:30-7 and we do it all again the next day :)
This month you found out that your Aunnie Becker and Uncle D are going to be adding to their family in a VERY special way so you offered to help Aunnie B by modeling her craft fair fundraiser items...DURING your lunch

because you looked SO cute and you KNEW it :)
You've enjoyed some of Daddy's soccer games and LOVE to just be OUTSIDE. We are pretty sure you think you are one of the "big girls" because you kept trying to get out onto the field when we had you out of your stroller... good thing for cousins that distract you :)
This coming month we look forward to taking you to your first FAIR and watching you with all the animals, people and sights. TiTi and Uncle L let you borrow a backpack carrier so that you'll be up nice and high, facing forward (your favorite) taking it all in outside. I bet you'll have a blast!! I can't believe we only have two SHORT months before your first birthday and I fear that when we get there your Mommy might just break down and cry from 1) the fact that we MADE it and 2) HOW DID WE GET HERE SO FAST!?!? :) We just love you more and more everyday and as Daddy and I have been talking about you growing up... we want you to have such a happy childhood. One that makes you smile and keeps you laughing long after you grow up.
We love you "baby" girl.
Daddy and Mommy.

PLEASE weigh in...AND COMMENT
I've had two in the past oh... 6 years or so and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them but the cost of replacement blades is OUT OF CONTROL. I might have to look at another option... and that option LJC is NOT, NOT shaving. :) sorry.
Same thing goes for toilet cleaner, bathroom cleaner, counter cleaner... are you budget conscious, environmentally friendly
or do you just use what your mother did because that's what your mother did?
