Grief...Part Three??

Carleton
April 10, 2008

Carleton, 71, went to be with Jesus on April 10, 2008 after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family, and will be greatly missed. Carlie was born in Bangor to Floyd R. and Eloise E. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Robert, his daughter, Sharon, and two grandchildren, Elijah and Sophia. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Amber; his four daughters, Kim; Robbin and her husband Kenneth; Katherine and her husband Barry; and Rhonda her husband John; 6 grandchildren, Monica, Christian, Tyler, Dow, Hallie and Elyse; and brothers, Gerald and Carroll; along with several nieces and nephews.
Carleton graduated from the Word of Life Bible Institute in New York and with his loving wife by his side, became Interim Pastor in Stoney Creek, N.Y. Soon afterwards, he was called to the Machias Valley Baptist Church in Machias and then served as Pastor of SWBC for 19 years.

As a retired Pastor of 28 years, Carleton will be remembered for his dedication to bringing people to Christ; his love for his family and friends and his great sense of humor. Celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary Down East in Bar Harbor brought him such joy and fulfillment. Playing golf became a lifelong passion of Carleton’s and it gave him a chance to relax and meet many different types of people. A Celebration of Carleton’s Life will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian, officiating. Burial will be later in the spring.

Things I remember from my childhood: Pastor P likes, pizza, pepsi, popcorn, and pickles. He always loved to create sermons with one letter being carried through...

My favorite part of pre-maritial counseling with him...
Pastor P: is lying EVER ok in marriage?
Me: Yes
Him: YES?!?!
Me: yes... if it has to do with presents or parties.
Him: Ok. I'll give yah that. :) you can lie about presents and parties :)

I love him so much and will miss him even more.

Particularly Pizza from Shain's on Sunday nights after church...And somehow he'd always manage to convince our parents that sprinkles would be FINE on our ice cream :)
