EDITED TO ADD PICS: 67 Quills and friends that can't be beat...

What started out as such a lovely girl's movie night IN...
Went VERY VERY WRONG around 9:50PM when they were starting to leave. Rebound came bombing through the front door (used his head to open it) and we started screaming. Laura Jane thought he had some sort of animal in his mouth that was going to get released in the house and I knew IMMEDIATELY what was wrong. I ran for the phone to call J.T. and in the meantime, Mama H and Joyce were documenting. I have to be honest. I was NOT a nice girl at that point and did NOT want pictures taken but now we have yet ANOTHER story to tell and I AM glad I have the pics at least for the documentation for Husband...
You should be able to click on the pics to make them bigger...
The deal with the porcupine quills is...you have to pull them out with plyers because there are barbs on the inside so you really have to grip hold and yank. When the first one came out, and Rebound yelped and there was blood... I realized really HOW bad it was going to be. Course in my mind I thought there were about 15-20 at first glance... who would have known... 67 later...and this picture is not even when we were done... oh I WAS done... (after pulling 38 of them) but Mama and Papa H were still working away in what was then referred to as "the operating room" pics of that below...
Meanwhile on the couch... at 11PM at night...
and at about 11:05PM... only a GLIMPSE of the hair that was swept up in the process of the whole evening...
Where much of the pain was caused... :(
and TWO days later... we were both still traumatized and I found him in HERE... that's not MY closet... pretty sure he was READY for his Daddy to come home and baby him...I know I was...

(Originally posted on 6/26 @ 3:09PM) Remember THIS...(the first pic in the post) they must be like RABBITS because there is another one... at this particular moment it is still alive but I ASSURE you... that will not last.

I am not emotionally or physically able to tell the WHOLE story right now... I will be back with pictures (in true blogger fashion Mama H snapped pics while Country Mouse was TRYING to keep it together) but it is still WAY too fresh and I have only had about 2 1/2 hours of sleep... BUT... I DID want to get these up here and I'll be back with more pics and the WHOLE story....

This is Team H ~ a direct quote from Mama H. She and Papa H make a FANTASTIC team, especially when it really REALLY needs to matter. I could NOT have done last night without them. Thank you...honestly... doesn't scrape the surface.
This girl did just this... she was the perfect compainion to love on and snuggle and calm the boy...it's what she does... and then she calmed and loved on his Mama after everyone left and I really DID break down...

This one, J.T. (not the "Dude" because he was not home) was our go-to girl on the phone. Walking us through instructions and def. the girl you want when there is a crisis and you need someone to SMACK YOU... you know those people... telling you to $uck it up and DEAL... they are very important people in a crisis and I was SO thankful for her via the phone last night...early this AM (12:15 to be exact) and again while I was at the vet before work....
And this one did NOT plan on the adventure she got when she left the lake but she stayed until the bitter end, holding ME up, encouraging ME and loving on ME. She was the calm... the one that did dishes and swept the hair (and there was HAIR EVERYWHERE) that would have been enough to build 2-3 Rebounds....she def. has the gift of helps and she was a HELP last night...
Last night was supposed to be a relaxing movie night and fun times with girlfriends... I have no doubt that God hand-picked the women that were with me last night during my "time of need" and I am BEYOND blessed by EACH of them... (and Papa H... can't leave the boy who rescued all the damsals out :) I will be back with... "the rest of the story"... zzzzzzzzzzz
What's that? Where was Husband? Oh yes... not home.

Ummm....pretty sure that I had to hide in making lists because I couldn't deal with the pressure. YOU my dear Julia were amazing. The first quill that you pulled out with the pliers...I screamed...this is NOT calming for the poor Rebound! So....off to hiding I went...Just hated seeing him so uncomfortable.
Trying to make it until 9pm, then I am following you to the land of ZZZZ's.

- The whimpy Red Head (definately NOT Rebecca...she has got a new career as Vet coming to her!!).

Poor Rebound! What a blessing to have such supportive friends/family. Bet there's a porcupine hunt now!
