Apple Pie Bars

From my new Food and Wine magazine that I ordered from Bri's magazine drive from school. Good purchase. It is a fun and interesting (to see how the other "side" lives) read. :)

Oh yes, it DOES call for SIX STICKS of butter. :) Husband and I are going to come up with a lighter, more apple, less topping version.

You could easily half the topping part of the recipe and just spread it thinner on the apple filling part.
And I just added apples to my grocery list for tomorrow. I NEED some of that!

Yum, yum, yum. I'll let you know how this works with Asian apples. Oh, how I'll miss picking apples in the fall...sniff, sniff.

OH NO!!

After a closer reading of the recipe, I realized I can't make these as is. I don't have a pan big enough or and oven big enough to make them. I can b-a-r-e-l-y fit a 13x9 pan in there. Man, now I'm gonna have to do MATH to cut the recipe down to a manageable size. Sheesh!
