A fun night... and SOMEONE started a blog... :)

We had a great time tonight (as always :) with J&J&CJ... Uncle "Husband" got home first and J&J&CJ were already there so he got some holding time RIGHT in before I could snatch the little man away... Course as evidenced by this pic, Husband should have kept holding him :) I don't know what a night with CJ would be though if he DIDN'T have a pic taken with me looking like he was just the most MISERABLE thing in the whole world... don't worry... the night picked up from there. :)

Because his Mama took him so I could start dinner and really... when you are this little... is there any better place to sleep than your Mama's arms? Yes, I thought not. :)
The boys hung out... (Husband LOOKS like he is having fun but he is REALLY not happy with the camera biz tonight :) He's such a good sport for me :)Sweet holding time while dinner cooked... see he DOES love me... :) Then there was "fun on the counter".... No Brando YOU cannot do this when you come over... it is STRICTLY for children who's shoes have not ever touched the ground :)

Uncle and Ant with the teenist of the SEVEN nieces and nephews :)Cute family photo :) :) This is where it got fun :) Daddy is having a HEART attack and Mama is obviously totally fine... So is CJ.... Gotta put up with a little red-eye because this pic was TOO cute NOT to post... oh the little muffy man!!!

And a little snuggle to end the evening... sweet :)

A "foot of flurries"...

that's a direct quote from my Dad. He thinks that's how the weather guys up here should start predicting snow storms since they apparantly HAVE NO IDEA!!! We are currently getting about 3-6 inches?? and it was supposed to be a "snow shower"... that means just a smattering of snow here and there throughout the evening. It has been snowing since I got out of work at 4:30 and has YET TO STOP!?!? That's not a "snow shower".

So, Husband and I took advantage of it and went SHOPPING after dinner! (Three nights home in a row and we get a little stir crazy :)) He was a good sport for the up close and personal pic and what you can't see but I think you can tell by his face is that the snow is

coming STRAIGHT AT US!!! :)

After I'd taken the pic I said "oh shoot, we should have taken it near the snow bank for Tracy!!!" :) So he up and offered to scoot over to one of the snow bankings in the parking lot, climb up to the top and have his pic taken so you can see the SNOW!!! And honestly, it doesn't really do it justice. We parked the car in front of it to try and give some parameters but.... still... don't think you can REALLY feel it... :)

Not all roses....

I know He gives us trials to make us stronger, to "force" us to lean on Him more and more each day but some days I just wonder... how MUCH more... there is sadness in cancer... of a Mom that has 6 children... who loves the Lord with all her heart, mind and soul and there is not a shadow of a doubt in my mind of that... there is a sadness in cancer that is effecting my cousin... that is ripping its way through his body and forcing him to endure all the nasty side effects that go along with the evil miracle drug chemo...there is a sadness in my parents day to day struggle of caring for their parents/inlaws.... there is sadness behind closed doors at home where people don't know and don't see the day to day struggles of sometimes just making it through one more day and not knowing how because you miss someone so badly that your whole body hurts... not just your broken heart. But we hold on... and we look to the One who created us, who loves us unconditionally and we PRAY to just let His mercy rain out on us.

Driving home from work today I was listening to the local Christian radio station and Michael W. Smith came on. (no comments about how I love old man music. I LOVE old men! :)) It touched my soul. I needed more and I knew just the song. I popped in my "Worship" CD, flipped over to track 8 and turned it up loud. If you have not heard, or do not own, or haven't yet downloaded Let it Rain, let me encourage you to do so. Spend the .99 with i tunes or whomever you use and get the live version. Turn it up loud, let it penetrate your soul and spend some time coming to the feet of Jesus with your requests. I honestly don't know how I'd make it through without Him.

*************************************************************************************
On with the night... no exciting pictures but exciting stuff for us... WE STAYED HOME!! :) ALL NIGHT. WE HUNG OUT. WE JUST STAYED HOME! :)

We had a yummy dinner of pasta primevera with chicken...

And I got the guest room ready for some very FUN overnight guests we'll be enjoying Saturday and Sunday. So cozy you can barely see in there... I might have accidentally turned off the flash too. Whoopsie :)

Off for MORE snuggle time on the couch with Husband... ahhhh.... the sound of a relaxed, trying counting her blessings in the midst of all the sadness, girl.

Birthdays, Meat run and Chinese?

do they all go together? probably not... but in a weekend like ours they fit just fine..
My crazy girls... on Friday night at MIL's b-day pah-ty....

My three neices... so cute :) Apparantly... this is called ... The wedge. I was informed on Friday night...

The birthday girl with 1/2 her grandkids...

Chloe... after I took this pic she came over to see it on the camera and the first words out of her mouth... "I LOVE my shirt!" :) hee hee hee

Saturday we were able to capture a few minutes with my FAVORITE Georgians. Well, they are not REAL Georgians, but they have lived there long enough that I think you can call them that. And what do you do when you live in the south and come to Maine for the week... you take pics in the snow to show all your friends back in GA :) Funny.

I love love LOVE this Lady. I can't tell you what a pillar, a prayer warrier, a friend, a sister, an inspiration she has been to me by her love and devotion to my parents. She is my Dad's cousin, but I think if they were not related, the four of them... my parents, she and her Hubby, would still all be soul mates. I am so thankful that God has placed them all in each others lives FOR each other. It makes my heart happy.

Then it was off to MA for some MEAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTT! We took Sky with the anticipation that she'd be sleeping over... her anticipation was that her brother would get done his bball tourney in time to sleepover too. Sweet. :)

I think perhaps, if you look to the left of the pic and see the nasty red... oh yes, you know what it is... THIS is what could make someone a vegetarian at a VERY young age. :)

GA, this pic is for you. Apparantly this symbol? Whatever it is... MEANS Gangsta. I'm telling you. I learned a LOT this weekend :)

After dinner of homemade pizza with Sky and the R family.. (brother made it back in time for the sleepover!! :)) there were pedicures. Here's how a convo went down while I am giving this girl a full on foot scrub, lotion, painting of the toe nails:

Me: Your toe nails grow weird???

Sky: Yah. You gotta problem with that?

Me: Turning to Husband and DYING laughing... uh....

Sky: Oh yah. I went there.

Me: WHAT!?!?!?!? INSERT MORE DYING LAUGHING HERE. The girl kills me!! :) We even scrubbed and clipped the BOYS toes!! :) (eewwwwww!!!) but don't let his face fool yah, he was THRILLED for the foot soak :) and peppermint lotion! :)

Before church... so sweet. (BAH!) :)

After church we were SPONTANEOUS! I love to be spontaneous and we went out with the S family for CHINESE FOOD. Now I am NOT a fan of the food myself so I eat limited chinese but it was such a great time to hang out with the 6 of them... I only hauled the camera out for this quick cute pic. What Mama is going to turn down a kiss from her teenie boy... even if he is COVERED in boneless spare ribs! :)

Dessert

A post for Laurie, Tracy, and Deanne

Apple Pie Bars

From my new Food and Wine magazine that I ordered from Bri's magazine drive from school. Good purchase. It is a fun and interesting (to see how the other "side" lives) read. :)

Oh yes, it DOES call for SIX STICKS of butter. :) Husband and I are going to come up with a lighter, more apple, less topping version.

Dinner with da' 'rents

It went well... I still think they are living in a dream world but they are managing. They both said it was good for them to get out tonight. Kinda like respite. We'll keep doing things like this. I just don't know how they are doing it. How my MOTHER is doing it. Wow.

Here's some prep work for the Apple Pie Bars that Husband took on as a challenge and ROCKED!
The dinner table. You can see that Husband has food on his plate already so he was LESS than thrilled when I asked him to get up to take the pic! :) He's such a good sport though!!! (and I'm sure he didn't mean it when he said he was returning my Christmas gift!! ~ the camera!!)
There were TWO desserts... Mum brought a frozen cranberry pineapple pie... I think she's the only one that ate it. :) Whoopsie. Husband and I offered "courtesy tastes" (to steal a line from Rebecca :) But the highlight of the evening was the above mentioned dessert. This thing is taking up my ENTIRE stove. It's HUGE!!! :)

Up close for Tracy and Laurie... Snow shoes. Isn't it what EVERYONE talks about after dinner?
Now here is the question... WHO do I look MORE like... I tried to make the same smile for both (it's L's fav. big teeth, no eyes smile) :)

Dad....

Or Mum.....

And a little shout out to Hong Kong tonight, or is it morning... or tomorrow? I don't know I'm so confused with time changes! :) Regardless fun chatting with you D!! :)

Can I just *GUSH* for a minute...

(I'll answer that, of course I can, its MY BLOG! :))
So Husband is on school break... one of the joys of being the the profession he is... I think the time off from teaching... IS the joy of the profession :) but some wonder... how do you get up and go to work when you know he is playing all day or home alone or whatever... trust me... summer time... it's the WORST but I just have to rave about the past couple of days which would probably not have happened had Husband NOT been off from school.

For the past TWO nights I have come home from work, walked up the basement stairs and been met before I can step foot in the kitchen by him running over to cover my eyes with his hands and tell me to close my eyes he has a surprise for me!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE stuff like this! This is NOT typical Husband and I LOVE SURPRISES!! :) (good ones)
The first night, Tuesday, I was shocked... then last night I came home and he did it again!!! He had been cleaning down in the basement and stumbled upon a Christmas present for me that he had forgotten about!! whooppiieeee!! New PJ pants from Ralph Lauren!! Love the man.. he thinks I'm a size small on the bottom so they are a tad small, little worried how they'll be after I wash and dry them but really... can you be mad about a random Christmas present surprise and a Husband who thinks you are size small!? I think NOT! :)

But wait, the story doesn't end there... two surprises and MORE! :) I was getting ready this AM and Husband asked if I wanted an egg and cheese sandwhich for breakfast! What a TREAT!! A hot breakfast to take on the road in my already started and warmed-up car on a random Thursday!? I'm a spoiled girl!

Errand Night....

Nothing too exciting and at the rate life has been right now... that is just FINE by me. :)
Oh yes, I'm aware of the nice TAN Husband has in the DEAD OF WINTER :) Darn ice fishing! :) you should see his SHOULDERS THOUGH! PASTY WHITE!!! TRUST ME! :)

Went lo0king for perhaps some new track sneakers for Husband.. not that a man needing a double hip replacement will be doing much running... :) but... no such luck anyway..

Two grocery stores later and only 4 bags... we thought we did ok. :)

Ok ok... I need ANOTHER break... Smack 'n crack for dinner with hot dogs... we didn't get home from shopping until about 7:15... good news is... we didn't eat OUT? :)

Lotta couch time... gotta love it. :)

My 'rents are coming for dinner tomorrow night. I hope to capture the 12 course meal we are serving them (just kidding but there WILL be a lot of food) and I also hope to have very honest candid conversations about WHAT we are going to do regarding Nannie and Grampa... :(

"That girl is riding her like a horse..."

Somehow, I just had to use the L quote from last night that she screamed DURING the game which made the "bad boys" in front of us from the high school turn around to see who said it.. considering she is the secretary at the school... they thought it was just a HOOT :)

I LOVE her hair like this... :)

Silly kids...

There were some happy moments... they just happened BEFORE the game... Brando... are you worried? He looks kinda happy?? :) tee hee hee...

I think these two are the "ham mcmuffins" :) they are too good and too cute :)
Does this NEED any explination? These are the three LOUD, CRAZY girls who have to sit AWAY from the boys so they don't embarrass them.... :) oh I love my girls! :)

This picture says it all... since we all call Chloe crazy... I LOVE Sky's eyes... can you see it? She thinks she is too :) don't get me wrong... she loves Chloe's craziness but I love how her eyes give her away in this pic :) tee hee hee
